Bare Knuckle FC 15 Event Preview

Bare Knuckle FC 15 takes place on December 11th live from Biloxi, MS. The event is known as “The British are Coming” and it features a pair of big fights at the top of the card. In the main event, Mark Godbeer will take on the heavy-handed Sam Shewmaker. Shewmaker is 3-1-1 under the BKFC banner and holds a highlight reel stoppage over Eric Prindle that put him on the bare-knuckle boxing map.

Mark Godbeer is an experienced fighter who has competed in Bellator as well as the UFC. He will be making his BKFC debut but he has fought in bare-knuckle boxing before. He fought in Valor Bare Knuckle’s debut event winning twice.

In the co-feature event, Tyler Goodjohn will be making his BKFC debut after trying to start a fight with BKFC champion Luis Palomino after BKFC 14. He’s a controversial fighter who will be looking to make a splash here in the states. He has a wealth of boxing experience, both standard, and bare-knuckle.

Charles Bennett is the very definition of a wildcard. He’s been to all corners of the globe but hasn’t won a fight in any capacity in nearly four years. He’s competed at all levels of MMA and has fought on a number of previous occasions for BKFC.

The match-making here is simple, you give Tyler Goodjohn a name fighter in his debut, but not someone who is very likely at all to beat him. It’s a smart, high-profile way to introduce Goodjohn to a new audience.

Bare Knuckle FC 15 – Main Card

Mark Godbeer vs. Sam Shewmaker

Expect Mark Godbeer to land the more damaging shots and pick up a big win against an established heavyweight. Sam has a puncher’s chance, always, but Godbeer is the more skilled fighter.

Tyler Goodjohn vs. Charles “Felony” Bennett

Charles Bennett is fun, but simply put he’s not been competitive in a long time. Tyler Goodjohn is a skilled boxer and should dominate this fight. I’d be shocked if Goodjohn didn’t win this fight. It should lead to a title fight with Palomino.

Chris Sarro vs. Josh Burns

Josh Burns has a pro MMA record of 8-10 and has fought and lost for Bellator six times. He’ll be facing Chris Sarro who is 2-0 in BKFC both wins coming via first-round knockout. He could well add a third first-round knockout to his record in this one. Go with Sarro via early stoppage.

Quentin Henry vs. Jason Fann

Quentin Henry has one fight under the BKFC umbrella, a stoppage win over Brandon Malbrough. Jason Fann is making his bare-knuckle debut after a less than stellar 0-5 career in MMA. Expect Henry to get the win here.

Harris Stephenson vs. Christopher Lavant

Harris Stephenson is 2-2 in bare-knuckle boxing and will be looking to capitalize on his experience against Lavant. Lavant is 0-6 in his career and despite having one bare-knuckle event to his name, it was in another promotion. Stephenson’s edge in experience and technique should lead itself to victory.

Dakota Cochrane vs. Tyler Vogel

Dakota Cochrane has experience in MMA and BKFC and has a professional combat record of 33-13. He’s 2-0 in BKFC with wins over big names Johnny Hendricks and Chris Leben. A win here could position him as a possible future title combatant. Vogel lost at BKFC 14 and will be looking to rebound on the 11th. Doubt it happens. Cochrane should win this one.

Brad Kelly vs. Kaine Tomlinson

Brad Kelly is making his BKFC debut against Thomlinson who competed on Toe the Line 1. He was stopped in the first round by Noah Cutter. This is a toss-up, going to go with Kaine via TKO.

Bare Knuckle FC 15 – Prelims

Adam Pellerano vs. Rusty Crowder

Rusty wins via KO.

Bobo O’Bannon vs. Lewis Rumsey

Bobo has the experience and wins a hotly contested clash. O’Bannon knocked out Mike Kyle at the Toe the Line 2 event.
