BRAVE CF 70 Results

BRAVE Combat Federation, the self-proclaimed “only truly global” mixed martial arts promotion in the world, returns to Eastern Europe on Sunday for BRAVE CF 70. The show will emanate from Dvorana Tivoli in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and is set to be headlined by a non-title middleweight bout between Erko Jun and Marko Drmonjič.

Fight fans can catch BRAVE CF 70 streaming live on BRAVE TV as well as DAZN beginning at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m.

Main Event — Jun vs. Drmonjič

Drmonjič is a .500 fighter looking to reinvent himself inside the BRAVE CF cage. His BRAVE career got off to a great start when he knocked out Matej Plavec with leg kicks back in 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic. He has not fought since, so there should be a great deal of mystery as to where Drmonjič is at in his career. He will be fighting in front of his home fans in Slovenia, so he will have a significant advantage in his back pocket by way of crowd support.

Jun, a native of Bosnia-Herzegovina who fights out of UFD Gym in Antwerp, Belgium, has spent time between BRAVE CF and KSW. He had the look of a rising prospect while competing in KSW, winning his first three fights as a heavyweight before hitting a setback against former strongman and Polish celebrity Mariusz Pudzianowski. He then fell in 39 seconds to Damian Olszewski but has since dropped down to light heavyweight and is coming off back-to-back wins. Sunday will mark his BRAVE CF debut, and he will be looking to play spoiler against the hometown favorite Drmonjič. A victory will make for a necessary step toward a shot at the BRAVE CF light heavyweight championship, should the promotion one day decide to have the belt defended.

Co-Main Event — Lutterbach vs. Gustafsson

Sunday’s co-main event might be the best fight on the card. Joilton Lutterbach is a proven veteran who has fought all over the world against a wide variety of different fighters. Sunday will mark the 48th fight in the accomplished 30-year-old’s career after becoming the interim BRAVE CF 165-pound champion in his most recent outing. Lutterbach holds the interim due to incumbent champion, Eldar Eldarov successfully capturing the 175-pound belt at the end of the 2022. Lutterbach is now looking to follow in Eldarov’s footsteps by moving up to BRAVE CF’s super welterweight division to fight impressive Swede Andreas Gustafsson. A win for Lutterbach should point to Eldarov as his next opponent, one way or the other, and both fighters could be on an inevitable collision course regardless of Sunday’s results with Lutterbach’s interim belt not on the line.

Gustafsson is looking to cement his status as a legitimate Scandinavian prospect in the sport, and a win over a tested fighter like Lutterbach could do just that. The 8-1 Gustafsson typically competes at middleweight but will be cutting an extra 10 pounds to fight the Brazilian. He most recently scored a win in KSW, but Lutterbach will present the greatest challenge of his career. A victory could vault him into the conversation for a super welterweight title shot.

Rest of the Card

The rest of Sunday’s BRAVE CF card is stacked with talent. Edilceu Alves takes on South Africa’s Dansheel Moodley in the flyweight division. Bantamweights are also scheduled to collide when Imad Al Derbani takes on Eduardo Mora. Al Derbani received a wake-up call when he fell to Jose Torres the last time he stepped in the BRAVE CF cage but should still have a fruitful career in MMA, particularly if he improves his takedown defense. On Sunday, he should have a willing dance partner in Eduardo Mora, who headlined the show Al Derbani lost to Torres on. Sunday’s fight will be contested at 135 pounds, meaning Mora will be cutting down to 135 for the first time in his career.

Luka Podkrajšek is scheduled to fight Pavel Dailidko, and Miha Frlic will take on Marko Stamatović. David Forster will fight Nemanja Nikolić, and Mohammad Farhad opens the card against Vitaliy Yakimenko.
