In the main event, Fury FC heavyweight gold is on the line as Juan Adams (8-3) defends his strap against Austen Lane (9-3). Texas native Juan Adams is a veteran of four UFC bouts and even earned a victory in his debut at UFC on FOX 31. After a three-fight skid, he found his way back on the regional scene. His return to regional MMA has been nothing short of dominant as he has earned a TKO win in all three bouts, two in the first round. The 29-year-old has finishes in all eight of his victories and he’s only been to the judges scorecards once in his pro career. Adams has shared the cage with the likes of Greg Hardy, Justin Tafa and Arjan Bhullar. The Jackson-Wink member earned the Fury FC heavyweight title at Fury FC 49 after two straight victories in his pro promotional return at Fury FC 46 and Fury FC 48, and makes that coveted first defense tonight against Austen Lane.
As a former defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, it is safe to say Lane doesn’t lack size and athletic ability. The 6’6 34-year-old veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series steps into the cage on a three-fight win streak, earning all those victories by first-round finish. In fact, in his last bout he earned the Combat Night heavyweight championship with a 31-second knockout. He’s scored a finish in all of his pro and amateur wins and has only been past the eight minute mark once in his pro career. Overall, it is doubtful that fight fans will see the 25-minute mark in a bout which the UFC will have an eye on.
Co-headlining the card is hometown hero Nico Echeverry (11-4), and Canada’s Anthony Romero (9-1). A household name in the Fury FC community, Nico Echeverry makes a quick turnaround after a victory over Eddie Hoch at Fury FC 52. The 30-year-old has put together a pair of convincing wins after dropping his first bout of the year and has won four of his last five. Echeverry has a decent resume after competing against the likes of Sage Northcutt and Victor Martinez and is a former Fury FC lightweight title challenger. A win over Romero could possibly earn him another title shot.
Anthony Romero, a 24-year-old rising star, returns to the Fury FC cage after dropping his promotional debut at Fury FC 50. Romero just opened his new gym Genius MMA and does some training at Syndicate MMA and Burlington Training Center. This will be a technical chess match as these are two considerably high level martial artists.
Also on the card, Joel Bauman (4-1), Jake Heffernan (8-2), Itzel Esquivel (4-2) and Edmilson Freitas (9-5-1) will look to showcase their talents.
