A thrilling firefight has been added to the ever-flourishing ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai card as a young phenom takes on a battle-tested veteran. Undefeated Colombian star Johan Estupinan will lock horns with promotional mainstay Taiki Naito. That battle will go down inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
High Stakes for Johan Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 32
That highly-anticipated flyweight Muay Thai contest will take place on Friday, June 6. What’s more, it gives #5-ranked contender Johan Estupinan a chance to prove his worth in his biggest test yet. Meanwhile, it’s an opportunity for Naito to show he still belongs in the upper echelon.
“Panda Kick” arrived in ONE Championship in May 2024. His debut brought plenty of eyeballs with it, given his reputation as one of Colombia’s most promising strikers. That stems from his undefeated record, which now sits at a staggering 27-0.
In his debut at ONE Friday Fights 64, Johan Estupinan mauled Kouta Omouri in just 27 seconds. He then rattled off more impressive victories in rapid succession to gain entry to ONE Championship’s mainstage. And he hasn’t slowed down one bit since earning a US$100,000 contract.
Johan Estupinan Rising Through the Ranks
The 22-year-old continued to showcase his prolific punching power at ONE 168: Denver last September in a two-round blaze of glory versus America’s Sean Climaco. After that, he dominated Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 25. Then, he dominated fellow star Johan Ghazali in a three-round slugfest at ONE 170 this past January.
With every performance, Johan Estupinan’s stock has only continued to rise. Those highlight-reel showings saw him bolster his name and earn the #5-ranked spot in the flyweight Muay Thai division. Should he dispatch Naito, he’ll stamp his mark and show he’s more than just a flashy fighter.
Taiki Naito Could Be Tough Test for Johan Estupinan
However, for the Japanese veteran, ONE Fight Night 32 presents an opportunity to show he can still utilize his dynamic counterstriking to sink the dreams of yet another contender. “Silent Sniper” is as experienced as they come, with 13 battles in ONE Championship. On top of that, he’s shown he’s versatile, competing across kickboxing and Muay Thai outlets.
Despite that, Naito has gone 1-2 in his last three kickboxing bouts. But to his credit, he’s never shied away from fighting the best. And with the lights brightly placed upon him in June, he’s eager to return to the world of 4oz gloves where he has previously produced his best moments.
Most certainly, Johan Estupinan will make no bones about pressuring the Japanese jouster. But Naito has built a career out of forcing his opponents’ hand. So should his Colombian adversary make a mistake, Naito will be present to make the most of it.
