Mike Perry hits back at Nate Diaz's rematch call-out, as UFC vet and BKFC icon talks Dillon Danis MMA fight

Mike Perry has revisited an X post made by Nate Diaz in the aftermath of their professional MMA matchup. 

Perry defeated UFC legend Diaz by way of second-round TKO in their welterweight encounter at the inaugural MVP MMA event in May. Diaz campaigned for a rematch, but it hasn't come to fruition as of yet. 

Additionally, Perry has now alluded to the preparations for his MMA matchup against Dillon Danis. Their welterweight bout will be the headlining match of the inaugural fight card promoted by online crypto casino DuelBet, which would be Duel Arena 1 in Orlando, Florida, on August 29.

Mike Perry's aforementioned MMA showdown against Nate Diaz marked the former's first professional mixed martial arts contest since losing a unanimous decision verdict to Daniel Rodriguez inside the Octagon in 2021.

Perry exited the UFC and proceeded to accrue a 6-0 undefeated record in bare-knuckle boxing under the BKFC organization's banner. He's also captured the symbolic BKFC King of Violence title. 

Incidentally, Darren Till, a fellow former UFC star with whom Perry was in a fierce rivalry, recently got scheduled to fight ex-UFC middleweight Yoel Romero. Their highly anticipated bare-knuckle boxing match will serve as the main event of BKFC 94 Manchester on September 26. 

During the BKFC 94 Manchester promotional press conference a few days ago, Till jibed at Perry competing elsewhere rather than in the BKFC. "The Gorilla" insinuated that Perry was evading their long-awaited grudge match.

The Briton outlined that he'll beat Romero, Perry, as well as Lorenzo Hunt in the BKFC. Ironically, Perry's faceoff with the first-ever BKFC three-division champion Hunt in Italy made waves in the combat sports realm last month. 

Needless to say, Perry has no shortage of opponents, be it in MMA or bare-knuckle boxing. He, however, seems to be focused on his upcoming Duel Arena 1 fight against BJJ savant and the inaugural Misfits MMA light heavyweight champion Dillon Danis. 

In an X post, Perry has now written, "Omw to the spa." He added, "Thinking about being in Manhattan beach with my wife for a week and a decent hotel room having a fight." 

The 34-year-old alluded to having met some fans and taken a trip to Italy with his wife Latory Gonzalez (aka Latory Perry). "Platinum" underscored that he's primed to partake in a big fight -- the clash against Danis -- in Orlando, Florida. 

Moreover, Perry appeared to make a play on words -- harking back to a lighthearted interaction between himself and Darren Till from a few years ago. England's Till, who hails from Liverpool and is known to possess a Liverpudlian accent (Scouse), requested his 'frenemy' Perry for a spar. 

Perry misunderstood that and inquired whether the Englishman meant to say he wanted a spa. Ultimately, the two UFC stars faced off in a sparring session. 

It appears as though Perry subtly revisited that incident, writing, "Spa went well." With a 'folded hands' emoji, he continued, "Got an extremely helpful PT stretch after some really good grappling exchanges. I'm hanging with My Son. Preparing for blood August 29th. 

The KO artist highlighted that he's grateful for the memories and that his hard work is paying off. Perry noted, "Helps me enjoy the relaxation part." He further urged people to stay "blessed."

Mike Perry hits back at MMA legend Nate Diaz's call-out for a rematch with a succinct response

It's noteworthy that certain sections of the MMA community have argued that Mike Perry's win over Nate Diaz was largely due to his facial scar tissue getting cut open quite easily, which led to a cut-induced TKO finish in their MMA fight back in May. 

Diaz and his supporters have been adamant that a rematch would play out differently, with his hand raised rather than that of Perry's. The Stockton native made an X post last month, comprising a photograph of his landing a punch on Perry. 

Diaz, who is himself being pursued for a rematch in MMA by former boxing opponent Jake Paul, wrote, "Back in action upward movement." He continued, "Road to whoop this motherf**kers a*sss."

Here in August, Perry has harked back to that post and hit back with a rather concise response. Implying that he handled the punch quite easily, the BKFC superstar wrote, "Ate that."
