16-1 UFC heavyweight praises Josh Hokit but doubts he can dethrone Ciryl Gane at UFC 334
A 16-1 UFC heavyweight has backed Ciryl Gane to defeat Josh Hokit at UFC 334 while praising the title challenger and warning fans not to overlook him.
UFC star Josh Hokit has earned his maiden heavyweight title shot. He is set to square off again with Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight belt in the headliner of UFC 334, which is going down at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York on November 14.
The anticipation for the bout is already building among fans and fighters alike, and they have been sharing their predictions for the main event of UFC 334. Now, 16-1 heavyweight Valter Walker has weighed in and shared his bold prediction while praising Hokit.
Valter Walker predicts Josh Hokit vs. Ciryl Gane
Speaking on Full Mount MMA, Walker was asked for his prediction for Hokit vs Gane. The Brazilian picked the champion to win, but made it clear that he does not expect the Frenchman to have an easy night against the American.
Walker also warned fans against overlooking Hokit because of his unfiltered, outspoken personality.
“I think Ciryl Gane will win. But I think it's not going to be a bad fight. I think it's going to be a good fight, Walker said. “I don't think Ciryl Gane is going to easily win. I think people should not Josh Hokit, because he talks a lot of sh** and people take him like a clown.”
Walker believes Hokit is a serious MMA fighter who will arrive well prepared for the biggest fight of his career. But does not believe ‘The Incredible Hok' will become champion at UFC 334.
“I think he trains hard, he knows what he's doing. He is like a rugby player, bro. He's like no easy sport, he's a hard sport, you know. Yeah, I think he's a good MMA professional fighter. I think he trains hard, I think he brings good preparation. I don't think it's going to be an easy fight, but I don't think he's going to become a champion,” Walker continued.

As for Walker, he is also coming off an impressive submission victory over Thomas Petersen back in July, marking his fifth straight submission victory in the first round.
That said, Walker’s praise highlights the level of preparation Hokit brings into every fight. The American does come fully prepared when he steps inside the octagon, and his undefeated record of 10 wins speaks heavily for that. That said, he has never shared an octagon with a technical striker like Gane.
Josh Hokit and Ciryl Gane bring contrasting styles to UFC 334
Hokit likes to turn the fight into a brawl and throws heavy punches to knock out his opponents. He has had success so far, and his most recent victim was Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.
