Alex Pereira Targets Ciryl Gane Rematch for November UFC Event

Alex Pereira wants his chance to avenge his loss against Ciryl Gane within this year. He is eyeing a November UFC event.
Alex Pereira doesn't want to wait till 2027 for a chance to level the score with Ciryl Gane. With only a handful of numbered UFC events left this year, Pereira implied he wants the chance to avenge his loss in November. His words gave enough hints to recognize the exact event he was targeting.

Pereira, along with a large chunk of fans, rendered Gane's UFC Freedom 250 victory over him as an unfair one due to the multiple back-of-the-head shots fired by the French fighter. 'Poatan' also considered retiring after referee Herb Dean countered his argument by breaking down the rules behind back-of-the-head shots.
A few days after UFC Freedom 250, Pereira stated that he was "afraid" to go back to fighting with such a shady rule in place. However, the former light heavyweight champion seems to have left his fear behind now.
In a recent interview with the UFC, Pereira picked a rematch with Gane as his most-desired fight at the moment, despite no major changes being made in the UFC rulebook. His answer to a question about the Gane rematch could be translated as, "For sure, I think that's the fight that makes sense."
Subsequently, the Brazilian also revealed when he wanted the fight to happen. "Well, I'd come back in Madison Square Garden," said 'Poatan.' "Me and Ciryl Gane. If it was up to me, that's what I'd choose."

"I think that's the fight that makes sense. I really want it to work out, I want to win that third belt.
I think I've done a lot of things in the UFC, and I think I deserve to have those options.

Pereira's answer about his targeted event for the Ciryl Gane rematch reveals enough to figure out its exact details. In late August, Dana White and Co. announced that the two numbered UFC events following UFC 333 would be held at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 14 and at the T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 12. Hence, it's pretty apparent that Pereira is eyeing UFC 334 for his rematch with Gane.
Given the significance of Madison Square Garden in the history of combat sports, Pereira's choice appears to be an appreciable one. But only time can tell whether his wish will actually come to life.
