Anthony Hernandez accuses Gregory Rodrigues of "cheating" following his defeat at UFC Sacramento.

UFC Sacramento saw an intense middleweight clash as Gregory Rodrigues silenced the crowd with a hard-fought unanimous decision win over local favorite Anthony Hernandez. ‘Fluffy’ was once in the title contender conversation, but he has now suffered back-to-back losses.

The Brazilian nearly put Hernandez away in the second round, going after his lead leg and unloading heavy shots. All three judges saw it the same way, handing Rodrigues a fourth straight win and putting him right on the edge of the UFC Top 10. After the fight, though, the 32-year-old had some strong words, accusing ‘Robocop’ of cheating during the bout.

Anthony Hernandez Claims Gregory Rodrigues Was Grabbing His Gloves

The 34-year-old was over the moon after the fight, proud of the fact that he went the distance and looked strong doing it. Many would argue it was the best he has ever looked inside the Octagon. Hernandez had a very different take, though, pointing the finger at Rodrigues and accusing him of grabbing the inside of his gloves throughout the fight.

"He was cheating, grabbing the inside of my gloves. I fight clean man," the 32-year-old said during the post-fight interview.

‘Fluffy’ injured his leg in the second round and admitted the pain was intense, but he refused to quit in front of his hometown crowd. His future is now uncertain after back-to-back losses. Meanwhile, “Robocop” already has a name in mind for his next fight.

Gregory Rodrigues Calls Out Dricus Du Plessis After UFC Sacramento Win

Rodrigues didn’t waste a second calling out Dricus Du Plessis, saying that’s the fight that makes the most sense right now. He feels this win has put him right where he needs to be in the title picture.

"Dricus Du Plessis, that fight makes a lot of sense for my next battle. I will talk to managers and the UFC and see what can happen," the 34-year-old said during the post-fight interview.

He gave Hernandez his flowers too, knowing full well how tough it is to fight someone on their home turf with the whole arena behind them. As far as Rodrigues is concerned, he’s done enough to get that crack at the top-ranked middleweight. Now it’s the UFC’s call.
