Movsar Evloev Clears up Retirement Rumors Ahead of Title Face-Off

Movsar Evloev will be fighting in one of the biggest bouts of his life. Fighting for the UFC featherweight title, Evloev will be going up against the champion, Alexander Volkanovski. However, ahead of their bout, it appeared as if the Russian MMA star was willing to retire if he loses his bout at UFC 333. Thankfully, the title contender recently cleared the air. 

Movsar Evloev Won't Retire Anytime Soon

The miscommunication started with one of Evloev’s comments under Volkanovski’s comments. When a post shared how ‘Volk’ might walk away if he loses, the Russian star also commented “Same Thing.” Such an observation immediately went viral, with fans speculating about Evloev’s performance. 

As the UFC featherweight fighter clarified, that isn't the case. Speaking with BohnFire, Evloev stated, “No. No. That's mean I'm gonna win. But like I said, everything can happen. Like you can be a like a favorite like for Like a hundred and ten or two hundred and one but one punch can like stop everything you prepared. And of course, I'm ready for this too. I'll do everything to win. But anything can happen.” 

Evloev is coming into the bout as an undefeated fighter. Having won his last couple of bouts against the likes of Aljamain Sterling and Lerone Murphy, the confidence level must be shooting through the roof. However, while fans have often called his fighting style boring, the Russian star had a fitting reply. 

Movsar Evloev Replies to ‘Boring’ Claims

Fans have recently complained that Evloev’s fighting style is not interesting at all. Depending on a wrestling-heavy approach, fans have openly criticized his fights for being boring. Ahead of his all-important fight against Volkanovski, the featherweight star decided to open up about the same. 

Evloev said, “No finish' doesn’t mean boring. But I have a lot of fans who love my fights because of wrestling, because of, you know, some weird situations; my submission defense is great, and my striking is getting better. Takedowns are good when you understand MMA. I’m here to be a champion, to be the best in the world, and to make my family happy by winning.”

Evloev surely has a lot of dreams surrounding his big title fight. It'll be interesting to see how he fares in the bout against the king of the division.
