Anthony Smith Says Fans Will Soon Hear His Side Of The Story
Prior to his arrest in Nebraska in July for a domestic incident involving his wife, Smith entered a not-guilty plea, denying the accusations made against him. Smith's plea was validated by the court documents, which resulted in the cancelation of his August 17 arraignment. After being arrested in July, Smith now posts for the first time. He is out on a $500,000 bond.
In his caption, he wrote, "Happy to be home with my household full of "why's." I'll be able to tell my story someday soon. Until then, you guys just keep making it up as you go. Character is revealed in chaos."
Notably, he posted a picture of himself with his wife and her four daughters. It suggests that there isn't any tension within the family. After his arraignment was postponed, the former UFC title challenger will now return to court on September 21 for a mandatory status hearing. Meanwhile, his wife has already posted a comment endorsing Smith in the interim.
Anthony Smith’s Wife Continues to Stand by Him
It is important to keep in mind that, despite the seriousness of the charges against him, Smith has not been proven guilty of any crime. Even though he hasn't directly addressed the media since the charges except for his recent post, his wife, Mikhala, has already defended him on social media.
“There’s not a lot I can say right now,” she wrote on social media following his arrest. “I love Anthony with every ounce of my being. He is a good man, a great dad, and an incredible husband who loves us endlessly.” She added, “Anyone that knows him can attest to that. They made a mental health struggle into something it wasn’t. I am safe and always was safe. He would never hurt me. Ever. I called for help to protect him from himself.”
According to his wife, she wished to protect him from himself. Undoubtedly , learning about the Smith side is interesting, especially in light of the cases of BJ Penn, Dustin Poirier, and others who discussed their struggles with mental health after retirement.
