Axel Sola believes he has figured out Fares Ziam's game
The French lightweight praised Ziam's front kick but believes he has found a way to deal with his opponent's strengths.
Axel Sola is confident ahead of his fight against Fares Ziam on Saturday at UFC Paris, as he believes he has figured out how to deal with his opponent's weapons. The French lightweight praised Ziam's well-rounded game and front kick while explaining why he thinks he has found the answer to his opponent's strengths. Sola will also have the opportunity to compete in front of his home crowd in the UFC Paris co-main event.
Axel Sola Praises Fares Ziam's Game
Ziam arrives at the matchup after losing to Tom Nolan in June, which snapped his six-fight winning streak. Despite his opponent's recent setback, Sola is fully aware that he will be facing a huge challenge at UFC Paris. Speaking to UFC News, the French fighter acknowledged that Ziam is a complete fighter but claimed that he has figured out how to deal with his game.
"He has the best front kick in the UFC, besides myself. So it's a great opportunity," Sola said. "He's a very complete fighter. […] He has his strengths, and during his win streak, his last six opponents didn't understand his game. I think I have (it figured out)."
Axel Sola Excited to Fight in Paris
Sola will have the opportunity to compete in front of his home crowd when he faces Ziam in the UFC Paris co-main event. The French fighter is excited about the occasion and believes the atmosphere could make the night particularly special.
"To be the co-main event here in Paris is such a great moment for me," Sola said. "Now I have my destiny in my hands. […] The energy is great. It's the best energy of all the UFCs I've been in as a (fan) or a fighter."
Coming off a victory over Ismael Bonfim in July, Sola will look to build on his recent win when he faces Ziam in Saturday's co-main event at Accor Arena.
