Brandon Moreno Reflects on Missed Chance at Noche UFC 2024

Brandon Moreno had one of the best fights of his life in his recent appearance at Noche UFC. In recent times, Moreno, who was once an emerging star, lost his path just a tad bit. He lost his last couple of bouts against Tatsuro Taira and Lone’er Kavanaugh. Thus, it was important for the UFC flyweight star to bounce back.

When he got the opportunity at Noche UFC 4, a split-decision victory against Joseph Morales boosted his confidence significantly. 

Following his fight, Moreno caught up with Ariel Helwani. Reflecting on his recent win, Moreno stated how his missed opportunity at the 2024 Noche UFC hurt his progress. The UFC star said, “The one that hurt me the most was the one at Sphere. UFC came to me and offered me the fight, but I was in the middle of injury recovery, so I wasn’t able to fight.”

He added, “It was kind of painful, but finally in 2026 I had the opportunity to fight at Noche. I just feel super grateful with everything, with God, with life, with destiny, whatever you want to call it.”

Back in 2024, when Dana White approached Moreno for a fight at The Sphere, he was forced to decline. Dealing with his injuries, the fighter had no other option than to sit out of the event. But a couple of years later, the 32-year-old seems to have made a great comeback. 

How Did Brandon Moreno Fare in Noche UFC 4? 

Taking on Morales, the UFC flyweight showed his slick moves and dominated proceedings right away. With a lot to prove, Moreno made sure that the fight didn't slip out of his hands. At the end, the 32-year-old secured a split-decision victory, with two judges scoring in his favor 30-27 while another official gave a 29-28 nod to Morales. 

Following his victory, an elated Moreno said, “That's kind of weird but at the end, I won. I'm going to celebrate with my people. Viva Mexico! I'm super happy."

Now that he is back in the winning game, Moreno will look to take things up a notch in the future.
