Nassourdine Imavov shows off dangerous power ahead of Sean Strickland rematch.

One name in the middleweight division that fans aren’t talking about enough is Nassourdine Imavov. Despite being Dagestani, he doesn’t rely on heavy wrestling and instead uses his boxing skills to dominate opponents. ‘The Sniper’ is currently ranked number three and was once very close to facing Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight belt.

‘Borz’ released a statement where he talked about how a fight with the 30-year-old would create a huge controversy between Chechnya and Dagestan, and after that the bout fell through. Meanwhile, with Sean Strickland as the new champion, there are possibilities that fans might see the Dagestani fighter facing Strickland. Imavov even released training footage that sparked a debate online.

Nassourdine Imavov Shows Off Sharp Hands

It has been a year since fans last saw Imavov fight. Exactly one year ago, the 30-year-old faced Caio Borralho and won by dominating all five rounds. Since then, he has been in the title shot conversation, but the Chimaev situation made things complicated due to their shared religious background.

However, ‘The Sniper’ has now dropped a training video showing off his hand speed, which looks fascinating, and many are questioning whether he can knock out Strickland. He certainly has the power, but he needs to connect clean shots to get the job done. Fans should never count “Tarzan” out either, as he has pulled off two massive upsets in the UFC.

The American fighter defeated both Israel Adesanya and Khamzat Chimaev, two fighters who once looked invincible. Facing Strickland won’t be easy for Imavov, as he brings a lot of experience to the table. Meanwhile, ‘Borz’ has recently come out in support of the Dagestani fighter and said he deserves the title shot.

Khamzat Chimaev Reacts To Sean Strickland vs. Nassourdine Imavov Rumor Fight

Chimaev reacted to the rumors of Strickland vs. Imavov being booked for a December title fight. He said he isn’t surprised, pointing out that Imavov has been waiting for his title opportunity for a long time. During his recent interview with Ushatayka, he said:

"Not a surprise. How long has Imavov been waiting? Probably about 2 years or so.. He was already a contender. Whoever wins, we'll take him."

The Chechen fighter also made it clear that he plans to stay at middleweight until he beats everyone in the division. He added that whoever wins between ‘Tarzan’ and ‘The Sniper’ will be next on his list. Fans will definitely be waiting to see how things unfold in the middleweight division.
