Cris Cyborg calls out Claressa Shields and Kayla Harrison

Cris Cyborg isn't ready to quit fighting just yet. After going five hard rounds with Ketlen Vieira at PFL Tampa, where she successfully defended her PFL women's featherweight title, she used her post-fight interview to call out two women she's been eyeing for quite some time now.

Cris Cyborg wants Claressa Shields and Kayla Harrison

Much of the conversation prior to PFL Tampa was about whether Cris Cyborg would retire. While the WMMA legend acknowledged that it would be the last fight on her PFL contract, she refused to fully commit to retirement, despite claiming to have several dreams outside of fighting. However, all retirement talk was brought to a swift end during her post-fight interview, when she called out both Claressa Shields, one of the greatest women's boxers of all time, and Kayla Harrison, the reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion and ex-two-time PFL women's lightweight champion.

Her first target was Shields, with whom she has a complex and bitter rivalry, calling her out for a boxing match (2:40):

"I'm gonna leave a message here for Claressa Shields. This girl came heavy and fought me, and you're scared. This girl have more heart than you, and I have 8 fights , you have 100 boxing fights, so get the challenge. Eat less, 160, let's go."

Then, she wasted no time in calling out Harrison, who was in attendance (3:00):

"Hey, Kayla Harrison's here. Come here. Hey Kayla, you've been running for so long. You're running from PFL, from me, now you come to watch my fight. Me, I'm ready for you. I hope you heal your neck, and go challenge Amanda Nunes, and come here."

A boxing match with Shields, which would be contested at women's middleweight for the division's WBA and WBC titles, is more realistic than an MMA fight with Harrison. Harrison is currently recovering from surgery related to herniated discs in her neck, and is expected to defend her UFC women's bantamweight title against a returning Amanda Nunes at a future event.

Furthermore, the UFC is unlikely to release her from her contract whether she beats or loses to Nunes, so a return to the PFL for a Cyborg superfight, which was once planned by the promotion, seems less probable.
