Dana White Already Dreads the Idea of Josh Hokit Becoming UFC Champion

However, despite disagreements, Dana White has always supported free speech, but sometimes fighters can go too far. Talking about the same, Josh Hokit is one such name who has made headlines with his statements, from his infamous remark about Michelle Obama to other comments.

Meanwhile, the UFC boss has made it clear that he doesn’t like whatever Hokit says, and now he is worried about him becoming the heavyweight champion.

Dana White Isn’t Ready for Josh Hokit as UFC Champion

After beating big names like Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes, No. 6-ranked heavyweight Hokit will fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 334. At the UFC 331 post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about Hokit being just one win away from becoming the new champion. To which the UFC boss said he has a lot of thoughts about it.

“I got a lot of thoughts on that. Lots and lots. I say it all the time, I don't have to like you for you to thrive here and you to do well and be successful. Many people that I do not like have done very well here, so, you know. I'm not saying that I don't like Josh Hokit. I literally don't fu*king like anything Josh Hokit says, so. And that's not going to change unless he changes, which I don't see happening, so,” White said.

He explained that he does not have to be like a fighter for them to be successful in the UFC. However, White made it clear that he does not like what Hokit says and believes that will not change.

Indeed, if Hokit becomes champion and keeps making controversial comments, it could put White in a tough spot as the UFC boss. Whenever a fighter says something inappropriate, White also gets criticism for it. So, his concern about Hokit becoming champion is understandable.

Ciryl Gane Will Defend The Heavyweight Championship Against Josh Hokit

Recently, White misspoke about interim champion Gane, saying he would not be promoted to undisputed champion. Now that it has been confirmed that Gane is the new champion, his first title defense has also been announced. Reportedly, Gane will fight Josh Hokit for the undisputed UFC heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 334 on November 14.

For those who don’t know, Gane has only lost two fights in his career. On the other hand, Hokit is undefeated and has been waiting for his title shot since beating Derrick Lewis. Both fighters are very fast and athletic for heavyweights, which makes this fight even more exciting.
