On Thursday, UFC President Dana White said at the UFC 167 pre-fight press conference that Jones was scratched from the main event bout. He did not elaborate on the reasoning behind the removal.

No word on what will happen with the UFC 170 main event – White stated that Jones vs. Teixeira will possibly go down in March 2014 for the light heavyweight championship.

UFC 170 takes place  on February 22 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
