Dana White pushed Quinton Jackson to honor his UFC contract

Whether you love him or hate him, you cannot deny him.

Quinton Jackson aka Rampage is one of the most polarizing figures in mixed martial arts history but the former UFC titlist has been far from impressed with his employers in recent times.

Dana White pushed Quinton Jackson to honor his UFC contract

Last time Jackson entered the eight-sided cage in a losing effort to Ryan Bader he entered his fight overweight forcing him to forfeit 20 percent of his purse as well as dealing with a knee injury.

Since his February Octagon appearance he was been very vocal about now feeling appreciated by the UFC and getting less money than when he was the UFC title carrier in years prior.

The last orgnaization that Jackson felt didn’t appreciate him was Pride Fighting Championships in Japan who didn’t consider him a top fighter in their middleweight ranks after back-to-back disappointing performances against the Rua brothers, this made him head Stateside to join the UFC.

While the 34-year-old has agreed to finish up his final fight with the UFC against  recent Octagon debutant Glover Teixeria it didn’t come without the UFC boss Dana White asking him to do so.

According to MMAJunkie.com White said “Me and Rampage had this conversation and he said, ‘Cut me from my contract right now,'” White told a small group of reporters after the UFC 149 post-event news conference this past Saturday in Calgary. “And I said, ‘Dude, we’ve had your back every step of the way, we’ve honored every contract that we’ve ever had with you – honor yours.’

“He said, ‘That’s true. You’re right. I will honor my contract.'”

Jackson will face Teixeria in Rio De Janero, Brazil as the co-main event of the October event that will be his final fight on his deal, whether or not he agrees to re-up is in his court after that.
