Gable Steveson Returns to Wrestling in RAF After Surge in MMA
Following a brief hiatus from the mats, Gable Steveson is slated to compete in professional wrestling once again this summer. Signing a multi-match deal with RAF (Real American Freestyle), the Indiana native is gearing up to make a splash in his debut as he takes a step back from fighting for the time being.
While an opponent for his first bout has yet to be decided, there is no doubt that heavyweight sensation will garner a lot of attention for his freshman showing in the company.

For longtime fans of the University of Minnesota star, Gable Steveson’s return to his roots comes as a spectacular surprise after a dominant conquest during his college years. Attaining such accolades as winning the Dan Hodge Trophy twice, the Big Ten Championship four times, and the 2020 Summer Olympics gold medal, he stands among the most accomplished scholastic competitors of all time.
Taking more than a year off the mats to focus on MMA after a disappointing defeat to Wyatt Hendrickson, Gable Steveson is seeking to take the heavyweight wrestling world by storm again under the RAF banner.
Starting operations in 2025, RAF has swiftly become a premier organization, attracting some of the biggest preeminent names in the realm of combat sports. These individuals include top UFC contenders in Colby Covington, Arman Tsarukyan, and Merab Dvalishvili.
Gable Steveson Enjoying Large Amount of Success Since Turning to MMA
In the wake of his loss to Hendrickson at the national championships last year, Steveson announced that he would soon be competing in mixed martial arts. Joining the famed Jackson Wink MMA Academy, alongside assembling a pair of all-star trainers in Gordon Ryan and Jon Jones, he has gone on to become an absolute phenom in the heavyweight division. Making his debut at LFA 217, he managed a stunning first-round knockout over Braden Peterson.
Subsequently, he has racked up two additional victories, with his last win coming last month at MFL 3, where he starched the then 11-3 Hugo Lezama in three minutes.
