Raul Rosas Jr. reportedly in talks to face Raoni Barcelos

The UFC bantamweights are reportedly being targeted for a matchup, but the promotion has yet to officially announce the fight.
An exciting bantamweight matchup might be in the works for September. According to a report from Ag Fight, the UFC is in negotiations to set up a bout between rising prospect Raul Rosas Jr. and veteran Raoni Barcelos. With both fighters ranked in the division's top 15 and currently riding five-fight winning streaks, the matchup promises to be an entertaining one. However, the UFC has yet to make the fight official.
Raul Rosas Jr. Continues to Rise
At only 21 years old, Rosas is one of the biggest rising prospects in the bantamweight division. After participating in Dana White's Contender Series, "El Nino Problema" signed with the UFC in 2022 with an undefeated professional record. Since then, Rosas has lost only once inside the Octagon, on his second appearance in the promotion. Now, "El Nino Problema" is riding a five-fight winning streak and would arrive at this potential matchup with plenty of momentum.
Barcelos Brings Experience to Matchup
Like Rosas, Barcelos has also won his last five consecutive fights and enters the potential matchup with great momentum. However, the two fighters find themselves at very different stages of their careers. While Rosas is a young prospect still climbing the division, Barcelos is a 39-year-old UFC veteran. In fact, when Barcelos made his promotional debut in 2018, Rosas was still a teenager and years away from becoming a professional fighter.
