Jon Jones and Joe Lauzon may be a couple of weight classes apart, but that hasn’t stopped the light heavyweight champion from challenging Lauzon to a jiu-jitsu match.

It took the lightweight just minutes to respond to Jones’ callout.

@JonnyBones this can be arranged!

After the response from Lauzon, Jones figured he would follow up and make a bid for a charity match-up.

I smell a charity event @JoeLauzon

Some fans got involved on Twitter, mentioning to Jones that it better be Duct tape, however “Bones” felt Scotch tape would work better — Lauzon immediately repsonded.

GUERRILLA tape will work just fine. I accept your challenge @JonnyBones. I don’t usually wear the gi, but I’ll make an exception for you.

Jones was re-thinking his challenge and felt it was time to back out and said Phil Davis could step in. However just a little while later, after a tweet from Lauzon the challenge was back on.

oh you’re bringing Nike into this!?! It’s on now “@JoeLauzon: Accepting is what makes you a champion! #JustDoIt @JonnyBones

One might recall the last time Lauzon was called out. UFC President Dana White gave the Boston native for a grappling match with Nick the Tooth prior to UFC on FOX 5.
