Josh Hokit Blasts Alexander Volkov Over His Boring Fight Style

While the UFC has seen many trash talkers, Josh Hokit is a different kind of fighter. He does not just talk trash; he finds a way to mock the other side. The former NFL star has no filter and says whatever comes to his mind. From Michelle Obama comments to 9/11 jokes, Hokit has made headlines for his words. Now, after Alexander Volkov dismissed him, Hokit has replied in his usual style.

Josh Hokit Fires Back at Alexander Volkov

Recently, while chatting with Ariel Helwani, Volkov took a shot at Hokit after he got a title shot. He made a comment about the next heavyweight title challenger’s mental health and said it was good that Hokit was ahead of him. To which the former NFL star then hit back. He pointed out that the last two fighters Volkov beat had already lost to him. He also called his fights boring and said the UFC should have cut him when they released Jailton Almeida.

“Maybe he should catch my "mental illness" since he lost to the last 2 guys I beat. Has anyone ever watched a Volkov fight all the way through? He's lucky to still be on the roster. Should have cut his boring ass when they cut Almeida,” Hokit wrote.

For those who don’t know, Volkov stated, “It's very admirable for UFC to put the guy with the serious mental condition to title shot. So, of course he should go in front of me…It’s an incredibly inspiring story for the guy with a mental illness to be fighting for the heavyweight title.” For obvious reasons, it didn’t sit well with Hokit, and since then, he has been taking shots at him.

Josh Hokit Suggests Alexander Volkov Should Learn From Him

It has been only a year since Josh Hokit joined the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series. However, in just one year, he has already beaten big names like Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. Now, he is set to fight Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title at UFC 334.

Talking about Volkov, Hokit shared a meme saying people have two choices: hate him or learn from him and become successful. He also tagged Volkov in his Instagram story. “Josh Hokit one year to UFC superstar and belt,” he wrote.

Undoubtedly, no one can deny the fact that Hokit has risen very fast in the UFC. Fighting for the title after just one year is a big achievement and says a lot about him as a fighter, keeping all the controversy around him aside.
