UFC 334 Delivers Firecracker Fights to Big Apple!

UFC 334 is set for Nov. 14. The mid-November UFC event is the renewal of another annual tradition. Ever since 2016, barring 2020 due to COVID-19 safeguards preventing the UFC from holding cards in traditional arena settings, Madison Square Garden has held the November UFC flagship show.

This year is no exception. The World's Most Famous Arena will serve as the setting for a Saturday night of MMA action in November.

During Saturday's broadcast of UFC 331 from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA, the Nov. 14 date was confirmed for UFC 334. As is the case with all UFC shows, UFC 334 will be seen in its entirety via Paramount Plus inside the United States of America.

Ciryl Gane to Make First Defense of Heavyweight Belt at UFC 334

UFC 334 will be topped by a championship doubleheader. In the main event of the evening, Ciryl Gane (14-2, 1 NC MMA, 11-2, 1 NC UFC,) just recently elevated to UFC Heavyweight Champion, will make his maiden defense of the strap against No. 6 contender  Josh Hokit (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC.) 

Both fighters competed on UFC Freedom 250 on The White House grounds on June 14, meaning UFC 334 will be their first outing in exactly 150 days' time. Hokit defeated Derrick Lewis by way of second-round knockout due to punches, with Gane stopping Alex Pereira by standing TKO in round two that late spring Sunday evening.

Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira fought for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship in mid-June after now-former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall was sidelined in the wake of an eye poke in October of last year during UFC 321. Aspinall eventually vacated the title after he could not obtain medical authorization to compete on UFC 334.

Women's Bantamweight Championship Back on the Books for UFC 334 

The UFC 334 co-main event takes place at 135 lbs. It's a rebooked fight from the first UFC event of the year on Jan. 24.

Current champion Kayla Harrison (19-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) makes her initial defense of the belt after a delay against Amanda Nunes (23-5 MMA, 16-2 UFC.) Both title fights are an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round.

This women's bantamweight championship contest was initially announced on Thanksgiving Day of last year at halftime of the NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys on CBS and was set for UFC 324 inside T-Mobile Arena in Enterprise, NV. A week and a half before the bout was to have taken place, however, Harrison had to withdraw from the card due to undergoing a crucial neck surgery.  

Another Solid Championship Doubleheader Shaping Up for UFC 334

As of this writing, it's the early morning hours of Sept. 20. Eight weeks from now, it'll be fight night in The Big Apple. Plenty can happen in the 56 days ahead of UFC 334, so the card is very much subject to change.

Should there be any changes to the bout order for UFC 334, MMA Sucka will keep you abreast on any alterations between now and Nov. 15. On paper, UFC 334 is set to serve up an amazing twin-bill inside MSG in mid-November.

Who wouldn't want to watch a heavyweight championship bout from Madison Square Garden? Any time Madison Square Garden plays host to a heavyweight fight, there's one certainty: The joint will be jumping. 

On the other side of the championship doubleheader, Kayla Harrison is the type of fighter who's more than worthy to take center stage at MSG on any given Saturday night, and so is Amanda Nunes. Cross your fingers that this card holds together, because this looks like fun.
