Josh Hokit's verbal assault continues. His latest victim: Daniel Cormier.

Sean Strickland may finally have some competition for the title of the UFC's most outspoken personality. Fresh off extending his winning streak to five with a statement victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250, Josh Hokit found himself at the center of another controversy after making comments about former First Lady Michelle Obama, sparking massive backlash.

Subsequently, former two-division champion and longtime UFC commentator Daniel Cormier publicly blasted the heavyweight prospect for his remarks. Hokit, however, isn't letting this one slide. The 28-year-old has now clapped back hard, taking aim at "DC" with a crude yet unmistakably pointed jab of his own.

Josh Hokit Escalates Feud With Daniel Cormier

While Justin Gaethje stunned the MMA world with his upset TKO win over Ilia Topuria, Josh Hokit arguably generated just as many or even more headlines with a microphone in hand. Fresh off his second-round stoppage of Lewis at UFC Freedom 250, the 28-year-old initially appeared set to deliver a standard post-fight speech.

"I'm a man with the plan, the beast that's ready to feast. You know what, f** this speech," Hokit declared before veering sharply into controversy. After taking another swipe at Alex Pereira, he capped off his interview with one of the night's most polarizing remarks:

"Now listen, Alex Pereira, I'm going to chama on your mama. And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America?"

The atmosphere shifted instantly. What had been an energized crowd at the White House event gave way to a noticeably awkward silence, with many in attendance appearing caught off guard by the comment, including UFC president Dana White and President Donald Trump, who was seated alongside First Lady Melania Trump.

Daniel Cormier Weighs In on Hokit's Remarks

What followed was a wave of backlash from fans, media personalities, and fellow fighters alike. Among the most vocal critics was Cormier, who didn't mince words while addressing Hokit's post-fight remarks.

"But the comments that he made in the octagon just made no sense. It was irresponsible, it was nasty, it was horrible, and it was unnecessary. It was unnecessary," the former two-division UFC champ said.

Hokit, however, appears to have little interest in extending an olive branch. Instead, the heavyweight prospect fired back with a scathing response of his own. Taking to X, the 28-year-old aimed squarely at the UFC Hall of Famer, writing:

"I've been nothing but nice to this fat cow pig... I'm not here for unity, in reality there will never be unity... I come to divide people's faces... if you don't like it, then come do something about it."

Whether the post was an attempt to double down on his growing villain persona or simply a heat-of-the-moment reaction, Hokit has once again ensured he remains one of the most polarizing figures in MMA

Will Dana White Fire Hokit? UFC's History Suggests Otherwise

Despite the growing backlash surrounding Hokit, there has been little indication that the UFC plans to discipline the heavyweight.

In fact, UFC CEO White addressed the controversy last weekend and made it clear that while he strongly disagreed with Hokit's comments, he remains reluctant to police fighters' speech.

"That was disgusting. There's always going to be people that say things that most of us don't agree with... I respect all presidents, present and past. Not everyone does, and you have to listen to stupid shit like that sometimes, unfortunately, because I also believe in free speech."

In hindsight, White's stance isn't exactly unprecedented. Over the years, the UFC boss has declined to take punitive action against fighters for inflammatory remarks, whether it was Sean Strickland's repeated controversies, Bryce Mitchell's widely condemned podcast comments, or Nate Diaz's social media missteps.

The fallout from Hokit's remarks has also spread beyond the MMA world. Comedian Jon Stewart blasted the heavyweight on “The Daily Show,” calling him "a f***** a**hole," while criticizing the White House-hosted UFC Freedom 250 event as a whole.

For now, Hokit remains an active member of the roster, fresh off a fifth consecutive victory and arguably generating more headlines outside the Octagon than inside it. Whether that attention ultimately helps or hurts his standing with fans may depend on whether his performances can continue keeping pace with his provocations.
