“Horrible Stoppage”: Fans Call Out the Way Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn Ended

While the highly anticipated Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn fight was an exciting show, fans didn't look happy with the ending.
The war of words between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn reached a fever pitch even before the two entered the ring. But as soon as the opening bell rang, 'KingRy' started asserting his dominance over his foe to finish him well before the stipulated time. Still, a large chunk of fans sounded off on the way the fight concluded.
Fans Express Discontent Over the Stoppage of Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn
Garcia didn't require much time to take the upper hand in the fight with his effective distance management and fast strikes. While Benn played the aggressor in the initial minutes, Garcia landed effective counter-strikes to take the lead in the first round.
Garcia started the second round with the same approach, allowing Benn to come at him. In the second minute of the fight, he made perfect use of Benn's overcommitting attitude to land a brutal counter right hook that floored his British opponent.
'KingRy' became the aggressor after Benn was judged fit to continue. He pressured Benn to the ropes and unleashed a barrage of punches on his opponent. Although Benn was trying to dodge a few, he looked incapable of fighting back, which caused referee Thomas (Tom) Taylor to call an end to the fight in the second round.

Most fans were convinced about Garcia's victory, but quite a few of them looked unhappy about the fight's stoppage timing. The replies section of the aforementioned X update displayed fans saying things like:
"Horrible stoppage, where they find this guy. He stopped the fight on 6 miss shots."
"Bit of an early stoppage. But Conor was about to take a massive shot."
"The stoppage was a bit early, but the outcome would've been the same."
"Worst stoppage in history. The ref deff had money on Garcia."
"Weird stoppage, Benn was clearly still evading the shots. But Benn was definitely rocked."
The criticism about the fight's stoppage wouldn't affect Garcia's record, as he successfully defended his WBC Welterweight Championship and moved up to 26-2 with this victory. However, it might make him desire cleaner finishes in the future.
