The American boxer won't be satisfied with an exhibition bout and has called out Floyd Mayweather for a serious clash in the pro boxing circuit.

Floyd Mayweather has not entered a roped ring in over nine years. While exhibition fights have marked his trajectory since, Ryan Garcia has emerged as a serious threat to the veteran boxer and would be happy with nothing less than a professional, big-money showdown.

Ryan Garcia Lays Down His Terms Amid Mayweather Fight Talks

The American boxer bounced back from last year's disappointment with incredible rhythm, picking up victories over Mario Barrios and Conor Benn. However, after his latest second-round knockout made headlines, Garcia has called out numerous high-profile opponents. Floyd Mayweather appears to be the newest addition.

Taking to X, 'King Ry' taunted the 49-year-old.

“Okay Floyd let’s see how much you love that ‘0’.”

Garcia then made his condition for the bout extremely clear, intending to thwart 'Money's undefeated record.

“And no I wouldn’t do an exhibition I want his 0 on the f—ing line. How much does he actually think he got left. I’m ready Floyd, remember you made this call. I’m just returning the favor. Offer is on the table. Accept or not, if not I move forward as I have been.”

While nothing is confirmed yet, a boxing news outlet known for its ties to Mayweather, FightHype, revealed that talks were underway for a potential super-fight between Garcia and the boxing veteran.

Mayweather, also known as 'TBE' or 'The Best Ever', has taken on numerous lesser challengers over the past few years since leaving the professional boxing circuit. Delivering impressive bouts against Tenshin Nasukawa, Logan Paul, and KSI's brother Deji, the undefeated boxer (50-0) has stayed under the heat.

After such an illustrious career, is Floyd Mayweather ready to put it all on the line at almost 50?

Will Floyd Mayweather End Retirement For Final Stint?

Since knocking out Conor McGregor in 2017, 'TBE' hasn't fought in a real boxing match. With over 27 KOs in 50 wins, it's not difficult to see why Mayweather wanted to end on a comically high note after the second-biggest fight in history.

However, to fans' surprise and excitement, the 49-year-old announced his return to the pro-boxing scene, this time under a promotional deal with CSI Sports/Fight Sports.

"I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing," Mayweather shared in a statement.

"From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards, no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event (than) my events."

While neither the Mike Tyson fight nor a pro clash against Manny Pacquiao has yet materialised, recent Garcia-Mayweather talks have reignited hopes for the boxing legend's comeback. However, with such a vast legacy on the line and little to take from another career victory, Mayweather might not be up for a decent gamble.
