Conor Benn and Ryan Garcia Go Off at Each Other in Pre-Match Presser

The heat is getting turned up between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn. As their much-anticipated boxing bout comes closer, both fighters are looking eager to clinch a victory. Before that, they wanted to play some mind games with each other by talking trash on the mic. During the pre-fight press conference, the champion and the challenger did take some brutal shots.

Initially, it was Garcia’s decision to not show up for their face-off. Reasoning his act, the champion boxer stated that he wanted to have some fun watching Benn stare at nobody. However, during the presser, we saw the American boxer in his usual form. Garcia drew first blood when he claimed that the 29-year-old’s father was ‘lying’ to him. 

Their conversation went as follows: Garcia: "I heard his dad talking like he was gonna knock me out. Bet he won't. You're dad lying to you."

Benn: "If I was you I'd focus on your IRS problems. Stay away from the tables bro."

Garcia: "Did he say taxes? I bet I got way more money than you. If you don't come out safe out that ring, that's your DAD'S fault."

Such a back-and-forth surely builds a lot of friction between the two. Following Benn’s manager’s claim that Garcia is looking rattled, Eddie Hearn replied, saying Garcia was too strong to lose against the British fighter. 

Surprisingly, Benn is also respectful of his American opponent. 

Conor Benn Dishes Out Compliments for Ryan Garcia

The Englishman will be eager to lay his hands on the biggest prize of his boxing career on Saturday. While he is focused and locked in, Benn is also giving Garcia his due respect. In a recent interaction with DAZN, the 29-year-old had some words of praise about his opponent. 

Benn said, “He's good. He's a good fighter. He's young. He's athletic. He's got fast hands. He can punch.

Thus, with a lot going on, fans will be eager to see what happens next.
