Khamzat Chimaev Claims He's Ready to Fight Everybody

Khamzat Chimaev walked into his bout against Sean Strickland as the favorite. However, ‘Tarzan’ had a very different mindset this time around. Called out for his recent lackluster performances, Strickland put up a spirited show to clinch the UFC middleweight title from Chimaev. Now, eager to get back his gold, ‘Borz’ is ready to take on anybody in the division. 

Khamzat Chimaev is Eager to Get Back into Octagon

Following his loss at UFC 328, Chimaev wanted an immediate rematch against the current middleweight champ. Until now, that wish of his hasn’t been granted by the UFC.

On the contrary, Nassourdine Imavov has been heavily rumored to be getting the next title shot against Strickland. Surprisingly, all of these things don't seem to bother ‘Borz.’ He just wants to fight his way up to the top again. 

“It doesn't matter to me, l've challenged everyone. I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible. I wanted to return in October, I called Hunter and they told me Caio and Du Plessis were injured. Honestly, I don't know, we'll see what happens. Maybe Imavov and Strickland won't fight. And I'll be ready,” Chimaev stated. 

While the UFC is still figuring out who the next opponent for Strickland would be, the Chechen-born fighter is making some strong cases for himself. Chimaev has also expressed how he is not backing down anytime soon. 

Khamzat Chimaev Isn't Pegged Back by Defeat

The defeat against Strickland came as a shocker for Chimaev. However, despite the setback, the 32-year-old star has recently expressed his champion mentality. The former UFC champion elaborated on how he has been training harder since his defeat. 

Chimaev said, “I don't consider myself a loser. When you don't give up, you don't lose. l've been training every day since I was five years old. I provide for my family, and I'm happy to earn money—whether it's by beating someone up or taking someone down."

With so much pressure from the Russian-Emirati fighter, it’s now up to Dana White and company to determine what’s next.
