Khamzat Chimaev told a young fan to convey to Sean Strickland that he is willing to ‘crush’ him the next time they meet.
Khamzat Chimaev just cannot seem to wait for his rematch. Following his defeat against Sean Strickland, the Chechen-born is eager for a rematch. However, the UFC doesn't seem interested in the booking as of now. But that did not stop Chimaev from delivering a brutal message to ‘Tarzan.’
Khamzat Chimaev Wants to ‘Crush’ Sean Strickland
Chimaev went up against Tyron Woodley in a high-profile RAF showdown recently. Despite the confident statements from Woodley, ‘Borz’ dominated him thoroughly, picking up a win in under 94 seconds. Following his victory, Chimaev could be spotted interacting with one of his young fans.
The interaction went as follows:
Fan: "Are you ready to take it? The belt."
Khamzat: "Of course I'm ready. We're waiting for an opponent. Strickland doesn't want to fight us. Maybe you can call him? Can you text him?"
Fan: "Yes."
Khamzat: "Tell him 'Khamzat's gonna crush you!"
If Chimaev’s RAF performance is an indication, then the likes of Strickland should be a bit worried. But currently, the UFC does not seem to be planning an immediate rematch.
What’s Next for Khamzat Chimaev?
Chimaev does not have a set opponent currently. As for the championship bout, there are heavy rumors about Nassaourdine Imavov being the next in line to fight Strickland. Reflecting on the situation, ‘Borz’ pointed out that he is ready to serve as a backup for the rumored Imavov vs. Strickland fight.
The Russian-Emirati star said, “It doesn't matter to me, l've challenged everyone. I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible. I wanted to return in October, I called Hunter and they told me Caio and Du Plessis were injured. Honestly, I don't know, we'll see what happens. Maybe Imavov and Strickland won't fight. And I'll be ready."
Thus, with a lot going on, it now remains to be seen what’s next.
