King Green isn't at all delusional regarding his current state, and hence sounded off about getting a BMF title fight.

King Green realizes how he mostly falls short of a victory whenever a ranked lightweight contender stands across from him inside the octagon. In such a situation, the 40-year-old analyzed his chances of getting an opportunity to fight for the BMF title. Green's senses judged it as something too far-fetched.

King Green Doesn't See Any Possibility of Fighting for the BMF Title

A look at Green's record shows that he is on a four-fight winning streak, with all four opponents being unranked contenders. However, his performance declines drastically against ranked lightweight contenders. In his last eight fights, Green has fought three ranked contenders of the division, namely Mauricio Ruffy, Paddy Pimblett, and Jalin Turner, and lost to all of them.

With his upcoming fight scheduled for UFC 332 on September 3, Green received an unusual question about a potential opportunity to fight for the BMF title during his appearance at the media day. Green brought his reality-based analytical senses into play to mention that he wasn't in a position to justify being provided a BMF title shot.

Despite expressing his eagerness towards the opportunity, the 40-year-old opined that he would never get it. Green said, "That'll be an ultimate honor. It'll be a dream come true. It's the best and the last thing I need to do on my bucket list. But that will never happen. I can't get a top-15 guy, and to get a BMF shot? What the fu*k are you talking about?"

UFC fans may have come across multiple fighters making outrageous claims, but Green distinguished himself from them, calling himself a "realist." He said, "I'm a realist too. I'm not the guy who thinks, 'I'm this s*it,' no. I look at life for real. The first thing everyone's gonna say is, 'Why him? That guy is not even in the top 15 in the world. Why would he get a BMF shot?' So I'm just gonna keep working my way down and earn it, you know?"

During the same appearance, Green also revealed that his upcoming UFC 332 encounter against Esteban Ribovics is the last one on his current contract. Hence, it's quite apparent that he will have to earn a new contract before he can move towards securing a BMF title shot.

Given his four-fight win streak, Green can stay relaxed in this regard. However, a win against Ribovics at UFC 332 can help him proceed towards earning his desired BMF title shot, despite the 40-year-old stating that it will probably "never" happen.
