Michael Page Finds UFC's Approach to Not Re-Signing him "Quite Disrespectful"
Michael Vemon Page is not happy with how things regarding his not being re-signed were handled by the UFC.
Former UFC middleweight fighter Michael "Venom" Page holds a lot of heavy feelings against the UFC, and it's not necessarily because they didn't re-sign him.

Former Bellator superstar Michael “Venom” Page made his octagon debut in 2024 at UFC 299, defeating Kevin Holland by unanimous decision. Page then went on to go toe-to-toe in the octagon against other UFC giants six times in total. Among these bouts, he brought victory for five. The only exception is a unanimous decision loss against Ian Machado Garry in UFC 303.
However, the UFC’s decision not to re-sign him says that it was perhaps not enough.
"The matchmakers make the decisions on who stays and who goes, and they didn't want to re-sign him," Dana White said to the media.
It was not the decision that made the British fighter’s grievance grow, but how the whole situation was handled.
"I had goals to achieve, so regardless of anything, I was winning my fights, which says to me you get to stay," he stated.
Speaking on Monday's edition of "The Ariel Helwani Show," he let the public know the uncomfortable situation he was put in. He has claimed he didn’t know about this decision beforehand and found out about it on social media just like everyone else.
“Found out the same time everyone else found out— I was chilling on holiday and I see I’m getting messages from people, I’m seeing the clips from different channels.”
Page is now officially a free agent and has the liberty to explore previously restricted territories. This includes being able to negotiate and sign with any global combat sports promotion or entertain alternative offers.
Speculations on Michael Page’s Next Career Move Rise
Although this temporary setback seems to be quite jarring to him, his journey in the cage is far from being over. While it's true that things between MVP and UFC didn’t end on great terms, there's said to be plenty of interest in him on the free-agent market.
Jake Paul of MVP MMA and David Feldman of BKFC have already expressed their interest in signing him.
“We would definitely welcome MVP. When he fought for us with Mike Perry, it was a pretty exciting match, and a lot of people actually thought he won that fight," Dave Feldman revealed to ‘Bloody Elbow’.
However, fans agree that Page’s performance in the last few years has shifted from being based on speed, creativity and knocking out opponents to just scoring winning points. Perhaps this very ‘Dull’ fighting style has influenced UFC’s decision not to re-sign him.
Therefore, fans expect to see more explosive striking from Michael “Venom” Page in the new chapter of his career.
