ONE Friday Fights 157 Full Fight Card Promises All-Out Action

Hot on the heels of the fiery ONE Friday Fights 156, this week's edition showcases a total of 9 bouts, with 8 of them being Muay Thai fights and 1 MMA match added for good measure.

Striking fans are in for a treat throughout the card, culminating in the main event, which features a clash of styles. In flyweight Muay Thai action, Yodlekpet Or Atchariya of Thailand, a 4-time Muay Thai world champion, battles Lethwei specialist Saw Min Min of Myanmar. The winner will likely be interested in the upcoming flyweight Muay Thai title bout between Asadula Imagazaliev and Aslamjon Ortikov in an Inner Circle event on June 26.

A Clash of Striking Styles

As mentioned above, the fight between Yodlekpet and Saw Min Min is an exciting clash of striking styles. Yodleklet, a fixture in ONE Friday Fights and a highly decorated champion with titles at both Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadiums, is one of the most aggressive fighters in the sport. Always coming forward with relentless aggression and a devastating low-kick style, he puts tremendous pressure on his opponents.

Saw Min Min is no pushover, though, and will welcome the chance to make his name against one of the top draws in the division. He started in Lethwei and eventually won the 2017 ONE Myanmar Flyweight MMA Tournament. Now he wants to carve his place in the Muay Thai scene, and he wants to do it at the expense of one of the promotion's hottest names.

A Truly Stacked Card with a Worthy Co-Main Event

The rest of the card is truly stacked. In the co-main event, we get another flyweight Muay Thai fight that's just as noteworthy and promises to be as thrilling as the main event. Spain's Xavier Gonzalez is set to square off against Thailand's PayakSurin JP Power.

A veteran of ONE Friday Fights, the 24-year-old Gonzalez is a brawler who mixes his boxing and elbow combinations into an exciting, come-forward style. On the other hand, the 21-year-old Payaksurin is a southpaw who is trying to follow in the footsteps of his cousin, PloyKhao Or AudUdon, who is also a veteran of ONE Friday Fights. Pyaksurin has a fan-friendly, all-out style that has produced some recent classics at ONE.

 

Rounding up the card are fantastic fights that will more than warm up the crowd for the main and co-main events. Takuma Ota, the WBC Muay Thai champion, will fight Jacob Thompson, the ONE; United Kingdom flyweight Muay Thai winner. Kajornklai Sor Sor Toipadriev of Thailand will battle it out with Lamnangkhong BS Muay Thai of Laos in bantamweight Muay Thai. 

Tayo Zahir of the UK takes his perfect 12-0 record in his ONE debut and clashes with Mahan Fotouhi of Iran in lightweight Muay Thai. In the lone MMA fight of the night, John Brutas of the Philippines takes on Nazareth Lalfhazuala of India in strawweight MMA action. ONE Friday Fights is serving as a precursor to a month-long display of combat sports goodness, with events such as  Nong-O's trilogy with Kongthoranee still to come.
