Paddy Pimblett Reveals reason why Braiding Hair Became Absolutely Necessary

Paddy Pimblett explains why it became necessary for him to braid his hair following the Jared Gordon fight.
Paddy Pimblett and his braided hairstyle have become extremely popular. His traditional hairstyle, coupled with his unique hand movements inside the octagon, has made the English fighter a popular face in the UFC. However, in a recent interview, Pimblett revealed that he did not braid his hair previously. But one particular reason compelled him to do so.
Why does Paddy Pimblett Braid his Hair?
Speaking about his hairstyle, Pimblett pointed out that it was more about necessity than a style statement for him. During a fight against Jared Gordon back at UFC 282, Pimblett came into the octagon without braiding his hair. But during the fight, his long hair was creating significant interference that could have resulted in âThe Baddyâ losing the fight.
The UFC lightweight star said, âThe last fight that I didn't braid my hair , was a very close fight, people still call it one of the worst robberies of all time When he was hitting me with punches my hair was flying back, it just looks 10 times worse. So, after that fight I thought I'm gonna have to get braids from now on' and it's worked."
Surely, that trick seems to have worked wonders. The 31-year-old went undefeated until he faced Justin Gaethje at UFC 324, where he lost the fight via unanimous decision. Meanwhile, as Pimblett is looking to aim for a championship, he has a new opponent calling him out.
Andrew Tackett Wants to Fight Paddy Pimblett Next
Tackett recently headlined the UFC BJJ card. Facing off against Jonnatas Gracie, Tackett displayed significant skills to catch his opponent in a vicious submission. Securing a dominant win, Tackett now wants to have a go at Pimblett.
âNow, another call out that I want is Paddy Pimblett. That man goes off with the submissions⌠So Paddy, if you think you can beat me, which I guarantee you can't, come step into the UFC BJJ ring,â said Tackett.
Well, Tackettâs dream might not be fulfilled. Thatâs because âThe Baddyâ will be looking to earn his shot at a lightweight title first. Having beaten Benoit Saint-Denis, the 31-year-old will be looking to continue with his upward trajectory.
