Paulo Costa lashes out at the UFC for denying him an opportunity to headline UFC 332.

Paulo Costa is not at all happy with the UFC at the moment. He initially wanted to make it to the main event of the upcoming UFC 332. Despite Costa’s wish, Dana White and company refused to let him headline the event. Instead, it will be Wang Cong and Natalia Silva, who will be the main eventers for UFC 332. Such a turn of events has made Costa extremely frustrated.

Paulo Costa is ‘Sad’ at UFC’s Recent Behavior

Costa recently appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani. With a lot going on in his life at the moment, the Brazilian star said that he was sad about how the UFC 332 card looks at the moment. The UFC star claimed that putting him in the main event would have made the card look more attractive.

Costa stated, “I’m sad because I think we could have given a much better fight card for the Salt Lake City fans. I don’t think the fans are happy. I’m not happy. I asked to fight in June, July, August. They told me to wait. I asked to fight in Salt Lake City. I asked to fight everywhere.”

He also chimed in further, saying, “For some reason, they still don’t want to put the interim light heavyweight belt on the line. I think this is a disaster. We’re not even sure Carlos Ulberg will be able to fight in 2027, maybe 2028, so they need to put the interim light heavyweight belt on the line."

Earlier, Costa had also expressed his disappointment with how UFC allegedly maintains a double standard with their ranking system.

Paulo Costa Takes a Shot at Alex Pereira

Costa recently went off on the UFC and attacked their ranking system. Citing ‘Poatan’s example, the Brazilian was confused about how the former two-division champion was still in the light-heavyweight rankings. He also questioned Pereira’s positioning in the heavyweight division.

The 35-year-old said, “The UFC has no consistent standard of behavior or set of rules, they always use double standards. Why is Alex Pereira still in the light heavyweight rankings after fighting in heavyweight and losing? And why is he 4th in heavyweight with not a single win there, and ahead of Gane?"

With things heating up, it remains to be seen what happens next.
