UFC President Dana White tweeted a smiley-face icon, when fans took to social media platforms following TMZ‘s report. According to TMZ, Rousey will also become the UFC’s first female title-holder, with her Strikeforce strap now becoming the UFC’s new Women’s Bantamweight title.
In just a short period of time, Rousey has taken the Women’s MMA scene by storm after defeating the likes of Miesha Tate and Sarah Kaufman. All 6 of her professional bouts/wins have ended via Armbar.
Rousey called out former Strikeforce champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in the promotion’s previous event. And as the rumor mill continues to churn, this fight could very materialise and be the first ever female match-up in the UFC’s octagon.
