Fans were in for a feast on Saturday as UFC 332 delivered a deluge of KOs, breaking two records along the way.
UFC 332: Silva vs. Cong became a night full of quick, lethal action and strikes that turned the tide. While the women's flyweight division now has a new champion, Natalia Silva, the Brazilian wasn't the only one who put on a striking masterclass.
Utah Sees 11 Fighters Flatlined, 9 in the First Round
For a night dubbed by fans and MMA analysts the most boring card on paper, UFC 332 went beyond expectations to deliver a seat-gripping onslaught of knockouts. Natalia Silva successfully took the belt home after a 5-round battle with Wang Cong. However, the knockouts came elsewhere.
In just the first fight of the main card, Roman Kopylov produced the seventh first-round KO of the night, tying the current record. First seen in 2005 at TUF 1 Finale, UFC 329 and UFC Fight Night: Medic vs. Rodriguez replicated that spectacle but failed to surpass it. Utah had different plans.
Esteban Ribovics knocked down King Green three times before getting the stoppage at the 4:08 mark. Shortly after, Payton Talbott upped the record with a KO of his own in the co-main event against Deiveson Figueiredo at just 2:09 of the first round.

Beyond the main card, prelims produced their own showstoppers, arguably hailing the fastest KO of the night at 23 seconds by rising heavyweight prospect Anthony Wint. The former NFL star is already looking to challenge another heavyweight menace who recently made headlines for a blistering 11-second end to Gable Steveson's sharp climb.
Eric Nolan, Alexander Hernandez, Jacobe Smith, Johnny Walker, Marcus McGhee, Damian Pinas, and Imanol Rodriguez are other fighters who finished their opponents before they could go the distance. Culminating in a total of 11 knockouts, it broke the promotion's 18-year-old record of 9 KOs in a single card at 2008's UFC 92.
While not all fights ended in a stoppage, the combatants still firmly stood out.
Roberto Soldic, Ismail Naurdiev Dominate UFC 332 Bouts
Croatia's Roberto Soldic made his long-awaited UFC debut at the Silva vs. Cong card this Saturday. However, the first round already showed the former two-division KSW champion in trouble. After two knockdowns punctuated the first round, fans weren't sure whether Soldic could swing the momentum back in his favor.
The welterweight, however, did the unexpected, testing Khaos Williams with relentless strikes and incredible ground control, to ultimately edge the unanimous decision victory.
Ismail Naurdiev did something similar in the sophomore round of the early prelims, blasting Marvin Vettori with heavy shots. While the Italian's chin came in clutch, Naurdiev swept the scorecards with 29-28 x 3.
Clearly, UFC 332 might not have been the most prestigious or interesting fight card on paper, but it definitely delivered action in every bout.
