UFC Belgrade Post-Event Tidbits: Serbian Fighter Ends Main Event in Less Than a Minute

UFC Belgrade stood out as one of the most amazing mixed martial arts cards of the year, amassing 12 total stoppages, with ten happening in the first round. In the main event, Uroš Medić proved he is the real deal at welterweight by flooring the veteran  Daniel Rodriguez, knocking out the Californian in just 30 seconds. Before that, Navajo Stirling announced himself as a bonafide contender at light heavyweight after starching former champion Jan Błachowicz.

UFC Belgrade: Noah Gugnon def. Miloš Janičić

Noah Gugnon

Gugnon's win over Janičić is his fifth win in a row. He has now finished seven of his nine wins as a professional in the first round He has not seen the second round in his matches since December 2024

The combined total records of his last five opponents stands at 48-9-1

Janicic's loss to Gugnon brought to an end his previous eight-bout win streak. It also was the first time had ever been finished by submission after 23 professional fights

UFC Belgrade: Gilbert Urbina def. Vlasto Čepo

Gilbert Urbina

Urbina's win over Čepo brought him back into the winner’s circle after losing two back-to-back scraps. The tilt was also his first in nearly a year after losing by to main card headliner Uroš Medić at UFC Vegas 109. His appearance at UFC Belgrade saw him compete at middleweight for the first time since facing Bryan Battle back in 2021 at UFC Vegas 35. 

Vlasto Čepo

Cepo's loss to Urbina is his first in almost three years, ending his two-fight winning streak. Three of his four defeats as a professional have come about due to stoppage. He is now 4-2 in his last six bouts

UFC Belgrade: Robert Valentin def. Duško Todorović

Robert Valentin

Valentin has now won two consecutive matches, making it the first time he has strung together a win streak lasting more than one fight since 2023. This win over Todorović is  his second submission victory in a row, making it his the eighth overall triumph by tapout.

His appearance at UFC Belgrade also marked the first time he has competed on Serbian soil since Serbian Battle Championship 19 back in 2018

Aleksandar Rakić

Rakic's win over Tybura was his first win since 2021 after beating Thiago Santos at UFC 259, ending his previous four-fight skid. It also was his fifth victory by decision

The contest stood as his debut fight at heavyweight after recording 20 scraps as a light heavyweight

Tybura's loss to Rakić  is his third loss in a row, losing previously to Ante Delija and Tyrell Fortune. It's also the most he had been struck by significant strikes in a UFC contest since losing to Alexander Volkov at UFC 267 back in 2021. His UFC record now stands at 14-11.

UFC Belgrade: Navajo Stirling def. Jan Błachowicz

Stirling's win over Błachowicz is his 11th in a row as a professional, as well as his third of 2026. It's also his first over a competitor that has held UFC gold.

Seven of his 11 victories have occurred by knockout. His victory at UFC Belgrade earned him his first Performance of the Night award.

Blachowicz' loss to Stirling was his first by strikes since losing to Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 145 back in 2019. He has not won a fight since besting Aleksandar Rakić by injury at UFC Vegas 54 back in 2022.

He is now 1-4-2 in his last seven tilts

His win over Rodriguez is his fourth consecutive victory, his first in a UFC main event. All of his wins over the course of his streak have occurred in the first round. He has now won two Performance of the Night bonuses in a row.

All 14 of his victories have come about by finish, including 12 by strikes

His loss to Medić brought to an end his previous three-bout win streak. It was also the first time he had been starched since losing to Ian Machado Garry at UFC on ABC 4 back in 2023

It also marked the least amount of significant strikes he had landed in a promotional bout, registering just one over the course of the 30-second contest. His UFC record now stands at 10-5.
