UFC Vegas 119 takes place Saturday. Hank Strandberg presents this handy viewers' guide:

UFC Vegas 119 plays host to a pivotal flyweight showdown this Saturday, as former RIZIN standouts Manel Kape and Kyoji Horiguchi collide in what looks to be an entertaining scrap. In the co-main event, promotional luminary Ion Cuțelaba will take on undefeated New Zealand striker Navajo Sterling.

UFC Vegas 119 Main Event

Nearly a decade ago, Kape crossed paths with Horiguchi at the 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix Semifinal. In front of 18,000 fans, the Angola native suffered a devastating third round submission loss to the Japanese star, ending his then superb seven-fight win streak. Eager to avenge his setback to Horiguchi, “Star Boy” has set his sights on delivering a staggering stoppage win of his own at the Meta Apex this weekend.

Following a wholly successful run outside the UFC after departing the company back in 2016, Horiguchi made his triumphant return to the Octagon last November. Since then, “The Typhoon” has recorded two incredible victories over other flyweight contenders in Tagir Ulanbekov and Amir Albazi, putting him on the short-list of possible championship challengers.

UFC Vegas 119 Co-Main Event

With 33 total bouts as a professional mixed martial artist, Cuțelaba stands as one of the most veteran athletes in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. Aiming to collect his second win in a row in 2026, “The Hulk” will have his work cut out for him, as he endeavors to hand out the first loss of Sterling’s career.

Training out of the acclaimed City Kickboxing gym, Sterling has emerged as a fantastic prospect at 205-lb. Winning his first four tilts in the promotion after making his debut in 2024, the New Zealander is looking to continue his momentum after logging a gnarly knockout triumph over Bruno Lopes back in March.
