Katie Taylor Signs off in Dublin After Epic Career

One of the greatest female fighters to ever lace up the gloves, Bray’s Katie Taylor is set to sign off her amazing career in her home country of Ireland.

After one of the best amateur careers in history, Taylor transitioned to the professional game and did just as well. With just a single loss on her record (which she avenged in dominant fashion), Taylor is credited with bringing women’s boxing to the forefront of boxing fans’ minds.

She was the undisputed and undefeated lineal world lightweight champion from 2019 to 2024, and has held the unified and lineal world super lightweight championship since 2023. 

She will sign off her career in Dublin’s Croke Park against the undefeated Flora Pili.

Croke Park Sign-off for Katie Taylor

Signing off in her home of Ireland, Taylor will take on 12-0, Flora Pili. The Irishwoman will be a touch over 40 years old when she makes the walk and will have the entirety of the stadium behind her.

It will be just over a year since she last fought; however, she doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Her last three fights have seen her beat Chantelle Cameron and Amanda Serrano (twice).

Her most recent Serrano fight came in the iconic Madison Square Garden, headlining an all-female fight card that grabbed headlines. Her opponent on the night, the great Amanda Serrano, only has four career losses, three of which have come to Katie Taylor, showing just how great the Irishwoman is.

Undercard

This weekend’s card is all about Katie Taylor, however, the undercard is a strong one. Dave Allen returns to action against hometown favourite, Dubliner Thomas Carty. 

Undefeated bantamweights Joe McGrail and Matty Boreland meet in an exciting 10-round clash.

Paddy Donovan and Tyrone McKenna meet in an all-Irish affair as Donovan puts his mandatory IBF welterweight title shot on the line against the older McKenna.

Former UFC fighter Molly McCann, who happens to be Katie Taylor’s cousin, Molly McCann continues her venture into the world of boxing. At 4-0, she will face Sylwia Doligala, who is 8-2-2.
