Shanelle Dyer Returns to Action at UFC Fight Night 285
England's young prospect, Shanelle Dyer returns to action this weekend as she takes on the experienced, Elise Reed.
One of the hottest prospects not only in the UK MMA scene, but also in the strawweight division, Shanelle Dyer, returns this weekend in Sacramento, California. Making her second UFC outing after gaining a contract on the Contender Series in September of last year, the Brit got her UFC shot in March of this year in her home of London, England.
On that occasion, The Nightmare, took on Brazilian Ravena Oliveira and finished things in brutal fashion. Dyer finished Oliveira in the second round, receiving a performance of the night bonus and putting her name out there as a force to be reckoned with.
She will return against the more experienced Elise Reed, who has a record of 8-5. The American has nine UFC fights under her belt with a record of 4-5, however, it’s worth noting that every time she has lost, she has been finished. Can Dyer add to this unwanted record?

The Nightmare Looking to Add to Finish Record
With a strong amateur background, Dyer made her professional debut in 2023. With an amateur record of 8-3, she recorded four finishes and continued that strong form into her professional career. She scored back to back finishes in her first two fights, before going to a decision in her PFL debut.
She would get back to finishing ways with a pair of finishes over Luliya Kazak at Ares 18 and Mariam Torchinava at PFL Europe 2.
She would go the distance with Valentina Scatizzi, a woman who made the final of the PFL Europe flyweight tournament the year previously.
Although her Contender Series bout wouldn’t go her way, she fought with everything she had in that fight, gaining herself a contract, despite losing.
UFC Fight Night 285
The card will be headlined by a pair of exciting middleweights in Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues. Hernandez had his eight fight winning run stopped by the current champion, Sean Strickland and will be looking to get back to winning ways in California. Robocop is enjoying a three fight winning run, finishing Jack Hermansson before going the distance with Roman Kopylov. Last time out he finished Brunno Ferreira via knockout in just 1:47 at UFC 326.
Elsewhere, Reinier de Ridder makes his UFC light heavyweight debut as he meets Roman Dolidze. RDR was badly beaten up by Brendan Allen last time out, but with an additional 20lbs, it could make all the difference. Dolidze is without a win in his last two fights, losing to Hernandez and Christian Leroy Duncan last time out.
