Brave CF 58 Preview

BRAVE Combat Federation is set to return this Saturday for Brave CF 58 Hlongwa vs. La, which is scheduled to take place in Incheon, Korea. Saturday’s main event is between South Africa’s Mzwandile Hlongwa (6-1) and South Korea’s In Jae La (10-1-1) at middleweight. The co-main event is set to be a bout between Poland’s Marcin Bandel (20-7-1) and Brazil’s Luis Felipe Dias (14-3) at welterweight. The card is set to begin at 6:00 a.m. ET/3:00 a.m. PT. Brave CF often co-promotes fight cards and this time they will be doing so with the Beast Championship Federation.

Brave CF 58 Main Event: Hlongwa vs. La

Hlongwa is a South African middleweight fighter who turned pro back in 2016. Out of his six professional wins, he has finished all but one of his opponents within the distance via KO/TKO. On his near perfect record, his only loss was to one of MMA’s fastest rising stars in Khamzat Chimaev (11-0), who recently beat the #2 ranked UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns (20-5) via Unanimous Decision back at UFC 273 earlier this month. Hlongwa actually made it to the second round which is better than most of the opponents that Chimaev has faced in the past. Hlongwa is currently riding a two-fight win streak since his loss and looks to impose his will on his opponent come this Saturday and add to his win streak.

La who will be standing on the other side of the cage is no slouch. The South Korean middleweight has been fighting professionally since 2009 and started his career off without losing in eight fights. After losing for the first time professional in 2019, La has since gone on to a two-fight win streak as well. La specializes in wrestling and likes to keep a high pace throughout the fight. He has gone to the decision all but once in his ten professional wins. Will Hlongwa be able to knockout La or will La be able to keep up the wrestling pressure and come out on top? That is something we will find out for this exciting middleweight main event this Saturday.

The Co-Main Event: Bandel vs. Dias

The co-main event for Brace FC 58 will also prove to most likely be a banger of a fight as Poland’s Bandel is set to take on Brazil’s Dias. Bandel started his professional MMA career in 2009 and dropped two of his first three fights. Since then, he has strung together an impressive 12-fight win streak from 2011 – 2014. Since 2014,  he has won seven of twelve fights, and is most recently coming off of a first round submission win against then undefeated fighter Magomed Ayskhanov (7-1) back at Brave CF 54. In his 20 professional wins, Bandel has managed to submit 18 of his opponents and has only gone the distance four times in his 28 professional bouts.

Dias, who will be standing on the other side of the cage is also a finisher. He has finished all but one of his opponents in his 14 professional wins. Dias is currently riding a seven-fight win streak with his most recent win coming via a rare suloev stretch against Vanilto Antunes (13-5) at Shooto Brazil 100 back in August of 2020. Expect fireworks and highlight reel finishes as this fight will most likely not go the distance.

Rest of the Card

The rest of the card features talent from all around the world. The Phillipines’ Rolando Dy (14-11) will be facing South Korea’s Ho Taek Oh at lightweight. Dy is a veteran who has been a professional fighter for more than ten years. He had a four-fight stint with the UFC from 2017-2018 where he went (1-3) but has since then gone (5-4). Dy is currently on a two-fight skid and will be looking to jump back into the win column this Saturday. The South Korean fighter Oh is currently on a five-fight win streak and has finished all but one of his opponents in his seven professional wins. At featherweight, Abdullah Al-Qahtani (4-0) and Yong Soo Jung (3-0-1) will square off in a matchup of undefeated prospects. Al-Qahtani is most recently coming off a first round finish of Nejc Preložnik (3-3) back at Brave FC 56. Jung on the other hand is making his debut under the Brave FC promotion after winning his first three professional bouts between 2021 and early 2022. In addition to the welterweight co-main event, another welterweight fight to keep an eye out on will be between Issa Isakov (6-2) and Maciek Gierszewski (8-6). Isakov has finished all but one of his opponents in his wins, and Gierszewski has finished all of his opponents in his wins by KO/TKO. At lightweight, Italy’s Walter Cogliandro (11-2-1) and South Korea’s Jae Hyuk Bang (9-5) are set for a great fight as well. Cogliandro has a better record on paper but has dropped one of his last two fights, while Bang is riding a four-fight win streak after starting his career at (5-5).

The previously-mentioned fighters and so many others will be featured on this action-packed Saturday night that fans will not want to miss. MMASucka will be providing live results along the way.
