Serkan Ozcaglayan wants Tyron Woodley in Kickboxing
In an interview after his most recent victory at GLORY 83, Ozcaglayan declared:
“I want to say one more thing. Two weeks ago I received a message from America. Tyron Woodley. He’s a famous MMA fighter. People who are familiar with Mixed Martial Arts know him. I heard he wants to switch to kickboxing. That he’s tired of doing MMA. That he’s done rolling on the ground and just wants to fight standing up. He’s a middleweight.”
Serkan Ozcaglayan concluded with:
“Hereby I invite him to the most beautiful organization in the world: GLORY. So, Tyron Woodley, you’re very welcome.”
The top-ranked middleweight kickboxer wants to welcome Tyron Woodley to the world of kickboxing. The former UFC world champion is a free agent and has no fights currently booked. The US-born athlete Tyron Woodley is an MMA veteran of 27 bouts and has a background as an accomplished collegiate wrestler.
The ex-UFC fighter recently expressed interest in competing in kickboxing. In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, he said:
“I think I’m gonna fight in a kickboxing fight. Every time I kick somebody they hit the ground, why don’t I kick people more? ACLs torn, knocked Jake Shields down a couple of times, I even knocked ‘Wonderboy’ down when I kicked, broke my foot on Fatselum when I kicked him in the Kung Fu Panda belly. I kick hard, so why wouldn’t I think about that?” [Transcript courtesy of MMA Mania]
