On this Saturday afternoon before the Memorial Day holiday inside the United States, preparations are being made for cookouts and parades to commemorate the holiday. If you are the person in your family tasked with buying the hot dogs, buns, hamburger meat and/or potato salad or macaroni salad fixings for the barbecue, take your phone with you to the market so you can keep tabs on today’s MMA action.

With no UFC card scheduled for the weekend, UK-based Cage Warriors is here to fill the void. Later this afternoon, Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle is the site for the promotion’s only show this month, Cage Warriors 172.

Live coverage begins today at 1 pm ET/ 10 am PT on UFC Fight Pass with the prelims. This afternoon’s undercard is also streamed over the UFC Fight Pass YouTube channel.

Main card action follows at 3:30 pm ET/ 12:30 pm PT exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. The final version of today’s event features 12 fights, down from an advertised 15.

Main Event

At the top of the bill today is the battle for the Vacant Cage Warriors Featherweight Championship. Harry Hardwick (10-3-1 MMA, 4-0-1 CWFC) battles Orlando Prins (5-2 MMA, 2-2 CWFC) in a five-round fight at five minutes per round.

Co-Main Event

Immediately beforehand, the co-main event of the evening sees lightweight action when James Power (6-1 MMA, 3-1 CWFC) returns just two months after his last win to face Daniel Kolasinski (5-1 MMA, CWFC promotional debut.)
