UFC on ESPN 13 Results

Just days after the UFC‘s debut on Fight Island, another night of fights goes down and we will have UFC on ESPN 13 results throughout the night. At the top of the bill in the main event, a couple of featherweight contenders face off as they look to climb the rankings. Coming off a spectacular performance against Jeremy StephensCalvin Kattar makes his return to the octagon. His opponent will be Hawaii‘s Dan Ige who is coming off the biggest win of his young career.

Kattar’s last fight took place at UFC 249 when he faced off against Stephens. After a unanimous decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov, Kattar looked to get back to his winning ways. He defeated Stephens that night, finishing him in the second round by TKO as he ended the fight with an elbow. As for Ige, he has not lost since he made his UFC debut against Julio Arce at UFC 220. Since then, he has put together a record of 6-0 in the octagon. Some of his more recent wins include decision wins over Kevin Aguilar and Mirsad Bektic. In his last outing, he welcomed longtime lightweight, Edson Barboza, to the featherweight division. After a hard fought three rounds, Ige took the controversial split decision for the biggest win of his career. Both men look to climb closer to the top five of the division with a win on Wednesday.

In the co-main event, Tim Elliott looks to avoid dropping four in a row as he takes on Ryan Benoit. Dating back to October of last year, Elliott has lost his last three straight fights. It started at UFC Fight Night 161 when he took on Deiveson Figueiredo, losing by first round submission. His next outing came at UFC 246 as he lost a unanimous decision to the undefeated Askar Askarov. In his most recent outing, Elliott took on UFC newcomer Brandon Royval at UFC on ESPN 9. He would lose in the second round, as Royval submitted him with an arm triangle.

His upcoming opponent, Ryan Benoit, has not appeared in the octagon since last December. That appearance came at UFC Fight Night 165 when he took on Alateng Heili. He ended up losing that fight by split decision. His last fight before that took place at UFC Fight Night 121 in 2017 when he took on Ashkan Mokhtarian. That ended up being his most recent win as he finished Mokhtarian in the third round by knockout.

Kicking off the main card will be a welterweight contest as Abdul Razak Alhassan returns to the cage for the first time in nearly two years. He will be taking on UFC newcomer Mounir Lazzez. Alhassan’s last appearance in the octagon took place at UFC 228 when he extended his win streak to three with a knockout win over Niko Price. In the second fight of the main card, Molly McCann takes on Taila Santos in a women’s flyweight fight. McCann is taking a three fight win streak into the contest while Santos is coming off a loss in her octagon debut. Finally, before the co-main event will be a featherweight fight between Jimmie Rivera and Cody Stamann. Rivera enters the fight a loser of two straight while Stamann comes in off a unanimous decision win over Brian Kelleher in his last outing.
