UFC Vegas 106 is here. Later tonight, the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, NV serves as the host venue for the last UFC Fight Night prior to a pause in the promotion’s schedule for Memorial Day in the United States next weekend.
If you’re watching from America, you can catch UFC Vegas 106 exclusively via ESPN+. Undercard fights begin today in the late afternoon at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT, followed by action from the main card at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT.
All told, after a successful weigh-in window yesterday morning, 11 out of 12 fights on the card will go on as planned from Nevada.
UFC Vegas 106 Main Event
At the top of the bill tonight is a welterweight fixture pairing No. 8 contender Gilbert Burns (22-8 MMA, 15-8 UFC) and No. 12 contender Michael Morales (17-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC). As with all headliners, the main event is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the show.
UFC Vegas 106 Co-Main Event Cancelled During Show
Immediately prior to the main event of the evening, the co-main attraction of tonight’s show was slated to have taken place at light heavyweight. Rodolfo Bellato (12-2-1 MMA, 1-0-1 UFC) would have battled Paul Craig (17-9-1 MMA, 9-9-1 UFC) for a three-round affair at five minutes per round. At least, this was the plan going into UFC Vegas 106.
During the main card telecast, it was announced that the bout was called off at the 11th hour after the former took ill. UFC officials are working to rebook the contest for an upcoming event.
