Jean Silva has responded to Aljamain Sterling’s callout following his impressive UFC Noche victory, delivering a blunt message to the former UFC champion.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling wasted no time calling out Jean Silva for a potential no.1 contender fight after Silva's impressive win in the headliner of UFC Noche, which has potentially cemented him as the next in line for the featherweight gold.
Now Silva has reacted to the callout and has taken a verbal jab at the former champion.

Silva fought Jose Delgado in the event headliner of UFC Noche past Saturday. Despite getting knocked down in the first round, the Brazilian bounced back from the second round and had success with striking exchanges.
In the third round, he landed an overhand right that dropped Delgado and submitted him via rear-naked choke to secure the impressive submission victory.
With the win, Silva feels he has done what is required to get the next title shot and is eyeing the winner of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Movsar Evloev for the featherweight title at UFC 333.
However, Sterling, who is also demanding the title shot, has called out Silva for a potential title eliminator bout and expressed that he wants to fight the Brazilian at UFC 334 in Madison Square Garden.
The callout has now drawn a response from Silva, who appeared unimpressed by Sterling’s challenge.
Silva, speaking to Full Send MMA, was asked for his thoughts on Sterling calling him out for a potential fight. The Brazilian responded by questioning Sterling’s toughness while comparing their accomplishments inside the UFC in past years.
“Aljo you’re soft, you say you don’t want beef with me but here you are posting. I’ve done in three years what you didn’t do in 5,” Silva said via translator.

Silva, with the win over Delgado, extended his win streak to two; previously, he secured a unanimous decision victory over top featherweight Arnold Allen. Lord now has seven wins in the UFC, out of which he finished six of his opponents. He suffered just one loss in the promotion at the hands of Diego Lopes last year, and Lopes earned the title shot.

Meanwhile, Sterling in the featherweight division has gone 3-1; his loss came against Evloev, who is set to challenge Volkanovski for the featherweight title. In his most recent UFC outing, ‘Funk Master' secured a dominant decision victory over Youssef Zalal in April.
Given the level of competition Silva faced and his seven wins in the division, he is likely to fight for the UFC gold in his next outing. For Sterling, he needs to win one or two more fights in the featherweight division to demand the title shot.
