Anthony Wint Sees a Bright Future for UFC Heavyweight Division
A few days ago, Wint instantly secured a UFC contract by destroying his opponent, Matt Adams, in just 34 seconds. In just 11 days, he has now completed a historic lighting turnaround. He has now defeated Terrance Chatman in the first round once more. He has won eight straight fights as of right now. He is exciting because he has finished seven of his eight fights.
Meanwhile, he expressed optimism about the UFC heavyweight's future in his post-fight interview. He has named Josh Hokit and Gable Stevenson, making it exciting and shared. If everyone does their part, the division's cream will thicken and everyone will be able to enjoy it.
"That guy from Minnesota. He's doing a great job, man. Obviously, he's coached by one of the greatest fighters of all time, and I got no animosity towards him. I got no animosity towards that guy who's very loud on the mic. I think they're both great, and I think the heavyweight division is in a great season. We all need each other…Eventually, if we all do our job, we're going to end up seeing each other, and we can all make money, we all become great, and the cream's going to rise," Wint said.
In fact, the division is full of elite fighters like Waldo Cortes Acosta, Valter Walker, and Wint, who are making it exciting by hunting their opponent one after the other. Meanwhile, 'Bow Down' jokingly revealed that he had no idea what to do during his UFC Sacramento bout.
Anthony Wint Admits He Was Clueless Defending the Kimura at UFC Sacramento
Wint had a funny moment after his UFC fight when his opponent tried a Kimura. The former NFL star admitted he had no idea how to stop it. He just stayed there and refused to tap. He knew his arm could break, but he was ready to keep going. Wint said he and his team will work on his Kimura defense together.
“What defense…I didn’t know what I was doing. I just said you’re gonna keep cranking it and I’m not gonna tap or you’re gonna break my arm,” Wint said.
Indeed, it will be interesting to watch Wint's next fight because he is currently extremely entertaining, and Josh Hokit's transition from NFL Wint adds to the excitement.
