Brandon Moreno supports Joshua Van in retaining his UFC gold against Alexandre Pantoja.
The UFC flyweight division will be looking eagerly at the UFC 331 proceedings. As the former and the current champion lock horns, the hype is getting louder with each passing day. At the moment, Joshua Van is oozing confidence about defending his title against Alexandre Pantoja. However, according to fellow flyweight Brandon Moreno, things could take an interesting turn in the UFC 331 co-main event.
Moreno is currently on a high. After losing two back-to-back fights, his back was pressing against the wall. Thankfully, Moreno came out of the hole with a split decision win over Joseph Morales at Noche UFC. Reflecting on the championship bout, the UFC flyweight felt that Van might be the one stealing victory.
Moreno said, “You never know with that k- those kind of fights, but I have this feeling where Panto- sorry, Joshua's winning. Some of the fans think Joshua Van is, like, a little cocky. Maybe, but I understand. He's young and he's enjoying life, you know? He's been doing a lot of dif- a lot of good things in a short period of time, so I understand.”
The 32-year-old said, “Obviously, you never know, maybe, Pantoja finds a way to win. I mean, he always find a way, to, to ge- get out of trouble and finds the, the, the way to get the victory. He get the takedown and control and everything. So I don't know.”
Surely, Moreno’s prediction is a bold one. But if Van’s words are to be believed, the champion is locked in for the victory.
Joshua Van Sends Chilling Warning to Alexandre Pantoja
Van has been enjoying his run as the flyweight champion for quite a long time now. But the time has finally come for the newly crowned champion to show his championship character. Speaking about his upcoming bout, Van pointed out that he will be trying to put Pantoja to sleep within the first three rounds.
Van said, “We've studied him and seen a little hole he has in his game that we are gonna capitalize on. There's a couple things I can't speak on but it's going to be done within 3 rounds."
