Carlos Prates Sends Chilling Message to Islam Makhachev Following UFC 330

Carlos Prates is confident that he would knock out Islam Makhachev when they meet inside an octagon.
UFC 330 has concluded, and the main event between Ian Garry and Islam Makhachev turned out to be a banger. Despite Garry giving his all, he failed to overpower Makhachev’s skills. However, following the historic win, Carlos Prates had some very interesting words to share for his fellow welterweight.
What Did Carlos Prates Tell Islam Makhachev?
Coming into the UFC 330 main event, there was a lot of pressure on Makhachev. Following his transition to the welterweight division, the former lightweight king had to defend his title for the very first time. Thankfully, despite facing stiff competition, the Dagestani fighter showed immense character and managed to come out on top. Right after the defeat, the UFC double champion received a chilling threat from Prates.
Prates said, “I will knock you out, bro. I will knock you out. I will bring that belt to Brazil. The first welterweight champion from Brazil."
Surely, Prates looks quite hyped up to get his shot at the welterweight gold. Following Makhachev’s win, the Brazilian MMA star, who was present in the audience, pointed to the message on his t-shirt that read, “I’m Next.” Currently, there are rumors about two fighters who can be Makhachev’s next potential opponent. While Prates is one, Michael Morales is the other name, whom the former did not want to give enough attention.
Carlos Prates Uninterested in Michael Morales Fight
UFC 330 saw both the potential championship contenders watching the show from the crowd. Morales was accompanied by a friend, Martin Gonzalez. While Gonzalez tried to talk Prates into fighting Morales, the Brazilian star did not seem interested.
Turning down the offer, the 32-year-old said, “No, I'm gonna beat Islam and then we'll fight. I'm gonna fight Islam in December, and then I'm gonna fight in April.”
Meanwhile, Makhachev has pointed out that out of the two, Prates is the most deserving. Appearing in the Paramount+ post-fight show, the champion said, “Morales also is good, but I don’t remember the last time he fought. If you ask who is more deserving, I think Carlos Prates.”
