Daniel Cormier criticizes Josh Hokit over Michelle Obama comments at UFC Freedom 250

MMA legend Daniel Cormier sounded off on Josh Hokit over the latter's controversial remarks about Michelle Obama at UFC Freedom 250.
Daniel Cormier has expressed his strong disapproval of Josh Hokit's polarizing remarks regarding former U.S. first lady, Michelle Obama, the wife of former P.O.T.U.S., Barack Obama.
Hokit competed at last Sunday's UFC Freedom 250 event, which was held at the White House in Washington, D.C. The undefeated heavyweight bested divisional veteran, Derrick Lewis, via second-round TKO before proceeding to make a controversial comment about Michelle Obama.

During his post-fight octagon interview with veteran UFC color commentator and podcast bigwig Joe Rogan, Josh Hokit expressed his respect for U.S. President Donald Trump, who was in attendance for the fights, for facilitating the organization of the UFC's MMA bouts at the White House.
Hokit stated, "Shout out to Trump; for having the b*lls to put some sh** like this (UFC Freedom 250) on."
Elsewhere in the interview, Hokit once again took aim at former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion and heavyweight divisional newcomer, Alex Pereira. Taking aim at the Brazilian fighter's family, Hokit said, "Alex Pereira, I want to 'Chama' on your mama."
Moreover, Hokit then targeted Michelle Obama, stating, "And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?"

Daniel Cormier's criticism of Josh Hokit's controversial Michelle Obama remarks at the UFC White House event
Taking to his official YouTube channel, former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has now lambasted Josh Hokit.
Cormier, who also serves as a UFC color commentator, implied that Hokit is a potential title contender at heavyweight and is treading toward the wrong path with his disrespectful comments and brash persona.
"It was completely uncalled for," Cormier said. He added that Hokit has been in his gym and was also at the UFC Freedom 250 fighter meetings, wherein he wasn't putting on the controversial public persona and act that he's lately come to be known for.
Cormier explained that when Hokit is not playing the character, he's a normal person and a great athlete. He added, "But the comments that he made in the octagon just made no sense. It was irresponsible. It was nasty. It was horrible. And it was unnecessary."
The MMA legend suggested that Hokit started the interview with his usual ginnicky acts, which he deemed "lame as f**k." Regardless, he feels the 28-year-old could've simply ended the interview there and gained more fans, but he instead chose to make the disparaging comments about Michelle Obama.
Moreover, "DC" indicated that the former first lady of the U.S. has represented herself, her family, and her nation with class and grace. Cormier cautioned that Hokit's comments were unnecessary, as there are already many people who are attempting to divide America, and the said comments were divisive.
Noting that he absolutely hated it, Cormier opined that Hokit seems to have a great future as a UFC fighter.
Cormier cited Hokit's past statements at the UFC press conferences. He claimed UFC CEO and president Dana White had mixed reactions to it -- sometimes finding Hokit's talks funny, other times disgusting, and at times simply wanting to shut him up.
Furthermore, Cormier said, "To that comment in the octagon, gross. You just don't need to do it, especially when you can fight in the way that he does. Because at the end of the day, he's a fighter."
He added, "There was no gain in Josh Hokit doing that. It was disgusting. So, get it together, dude. You don't need to be as outlandish as you are."
The retired mixed martial arts star acknowledged that he's no stranger to Hokit, but he underlined that such actions make it tough for him to support "The Incredible Hok." He also noted, "That was nasty. It was gross. It did not need to happen."
