'I Expect a Tougher Fight': Regian Eersel on Muay Thai World Title Rematch With George Jarvis At The Inner Circle 33

The 33-year-old Surinamese-Dutch champion defends his Muay Thai belt against English striker George "G-Unit" Jarvis in the main event of The Inner Circle 33 on Friday, October 2. It streams exclusively via live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Eersel stopped Jarvis in less than 90 seconds in their first meeting in August 2025, ending the British challenger's four-fight winning streak with the kind of dominant display that made the rematch a must.

Since that loss, Jarvis has gone two for two, defeating former title challengers Sinsamut Klinmee and Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong. Most notably, he knocked Rungrawee out twice across Muay Thai bouts in 2024 and 2026, something Eersel has not been able to do.

The 26-year-old Englishman arrives back in Bangkok as a significantly more experienced fighter with a 28-5 career record and a burning desire to prove the first fight's result was not the full story.

Eersel Expects Double the Motivation from Jarvis

The champion is not walking into the rematch assuming a repeat of the sub-90-second finish. Eersel has acknowledged a more motivated and better-prepared Jarvis while making clear that his own approach remains unchanged.

"Yes, I expect a tougher fight because it's a rematch for him, and I think he's double motivated. He can fight for the belt again. He already had two fights – after our last fight, he won both of ," Eersel stated.

Jarvis' two-fight winning streak since the title loss reflects a challenger who has used the adversity productively, building his way back to a rematch opportunity with wins over quality opponents.

"The game plan is the same game plan as before. putting the pressure on, being smart, making my points, hurting him a couple of times, demolishing him and, in the championship rounds, I'm putting up the pace, as I always do," he explained.

Eersel, who trains at Sityodtong Amsterdam, brings a 65-5 striking record with 29 finishes and a 14-1 ONE mark across multiple title reigns to what is the most anticipated lightweight Muay Thai rematch of the year.

Eersel Identifies Jarvis's Knowledge of His Power as Both Strength and Weakness

"I think his strength now is he's studying me more, and he felt my power already. So, he knows what he's facing. But at the same time, that's also his weakness. Because I think it's also in the back of his head that I KO'd him, so he has to be extra careful," Eersel said.

Jarvis' two victories since the loss suggest he has rebuilt his confidence, but Eersel's ability to land that same power in the rematch gives the English challenger a decision to make every time the distance closes in Bangkok.
